A great adventure!!

This is a must do while in Jaco! It was our last day in Costa Rica and we didn’t have plans so decided to give this a shot. It did not disappoint at all! Memorable Nicaragua Experience

Our Nicaragua day tour from Tamarindo was one of the highlights of our Central America trip. The experience was seamless, well-organized, and full of unforgettable stops. Paul and Claudio took excellent care of us throughout the day, making the long journey comfortable, informative, and enjoyable. We especially appreciated the smooth assistance during immigration both entering and leaving Nicaragua. Everything was handled efficiently, and we felt safe and well taken care of every step of the way with Paul and Claudio guiding us throughout the process. Highlights included the stunning views from Mirador de Catarina overlooking Apoyo Lagoon and seeing the active crater at Masaya Volcano up close. In Granada, we explored the historic streets on a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride and enjoyed a quick chocolate tour where we learned about the chocolate-making process and sampled fresh local chocolate. We also ended the day with a relaxing boat ride on Lake Nicaragua, including views of Monkey Island. It was a long but very rewarding day, combining volcanoes, culture, history, chocolate, and nature into one unforgettable experience. Huge thanks again to Paul and Claudio for making the trip so memorable.

Worth it!!

This was the most fun we had on our trip!! Brian was an awesome tour guide who took us 4 wheeling through streams and river. We went up to the top of a mountain with incredible views and saw a couple waterfalls. Brian took pictures and videos of us and made sure we had a blast even when it started downpouring. The complimentary lunch afterwards was definitely a plus. High recommend! Worth the money!

Amazing tour

It was an amazing experience. Thanks to Santiago and Ana everything was perfect. Both are very knowledgeable about the place the tail and very expertise spotting every animal. Thanks to them we were able to take pictures of a lot of different species. Highly recommended!!

The secluded beaches we...

The secluded beaches we visited were beautiful! The kids loved playing in the waves. We saw two families of howler monkeys during the tour. There is a photographer who follows the group to take pictures, but you have to pay if you want the images. Bring a face covering (or buy one there for $5). It’s very dusty! You, your clothes, and your belongings will be covered in dust, so it’s helpful to wear old clothes and bring a trash bag to put your backpack in.

Fun family activity!

So much fun! I had never driven an ATV before so I was a bit nervous but got the hang of it really quickly. Everything is well organized and instructions are very clear. There's nothing crazy about the ATV ride other than the terrain at some points, but you go at slow speeds so it's perfectly safe for families (my husband and I drove our own with our kids on the back). I wish we could have gone faster, but this is not a thrill ride, more of a sightseeing type of ATV ride that is very tame. The tour includes a short hike up to Arenal volcano which is HARD if you are not physically active and not wearing the right shoes. My husband and I did ok but it certainly got our heart rate up. My teenage son breezed through it while my teenage daughter really struggled. I saw some folks in the wrong shoes who were struggling as well. Recommend wearing hiking shoes for this activity and being ready to make a steep climb at the end to the top of the volcano. The hiking part is only 10-15 minutes long. Most is paved except the very end where you need to climb up rocks to make it to the top. The view is incredible and worth the effort.

Great time!

Our family of 3 did single ATV’s. We have never riden ATV’s before but felt the explanation and safety briefing was extremely thorough. There were 8 of us in our 11:30am group and we had 2 guides. We felt they were attentive and we enjoyed the fresh pineapple and waters during one of the stops. We would have enjoyed a slightly faster pace but understand that if you have a slower group member the whole group goes at that speed. Would highly recommend this!

Great tour

I had a great experience at Rainmaker thanks to our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and really took the time to try and find the animals we were hoping to see. What stood out most was how patient and considerate he was—especially when I was nervous around certain creatures like spiders. He never rushed us and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the tour. We ended up seeing a lot of snakes, which was surprisingly very cool, and the highlight was definitely spotting a red-eyed tree frog! Overall, it was a fun, memorable experience, and I’d highly recommend this tour—especially with such a thoughtful and dedicated guide.

Hernan was great!

Hernan is one of the most incredible guides I have ever had anywhere in the world. His university studies for being able to be a nature guide is so obvious in his knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of the dry forest and the wet forest and the animals and plants that inhabit it. We did the loop trail and learned so much about plants, transition zones, animals, and the geology. His answers were never just a few words, but were obviously educated, detailed understanding and expression of the way these things all relate to each other and the beauties that they hold. Absolutely outstanding!

The tours were absolutely awesome!!! The ATV rides were excellent but a little bit dusty with the dry season. Waterfall repelling was absolutely awesome but once again and the instructors took great care of us. The zip lining can’t be beat anywhere else. The only thing that would make this better is a little bit of rain!!!

Highly recommend this excursion! The views were amazing, and we even got to see whales! It was a great balance of sightseeing, snorkeling, swimming, dinner/drinks and sunset. The fresh fish dinner was delicious as were the many drinks they serve on board. Only complaint is we wish it was more than just 3-4 hours!
