What are people saying about El Salvador

Breathtaking views.
Great experience. It was hot and humid at San Andres Mayan site but cool to look at. The Cerro Verde is a must experience Absolutely amazing, the views and the freshness. Alfredo our guide was pleasant and fantastic guide, him and the driver Juan were very perfessional and accommodating. Highly recommend this tour.
The road to the national park was a bit tough with curves but worth it.

Transport Service! Highly Recommended...prompt service! - Prompt Service!
This company was on point from the time my party arrived in El Salvador on a flight that was delayed 5hrs, to the departure which required a 3am pick up. They even allowed me to add 4 more people to my reservation on short notice. Communication was very thorough and on point as well. Highly recommended and trustworthy company. Thank you again for excellent service and kind patient drivers!!!
Your friends from Bermuda!

This review comes so late...
This review comes so late but my son and I had the best hiking experience here! At 6 years old, my kiddo managed to climb all the way to the top and the guide kept a great pace and a watchful eye over all of us. Even when my son got a little too happy on his hike down and had a minor stumble in the rocks, our guide showed great care and concern. He was so personable and got everyone in the group to know a little bit about one another, so I was very impressed!

Good tour with Josep!
This was a good tour! Josep was very friendly and knowledge. It was nice visiting the cities and coffee farm.
The coffee farm is more of a restaurant/cafe where we tasted coffee, and we then did a little nature walk where we passed coffee plants.
The colonial cities were cool to see and it was nice to be given some free time to explore and shop.

An Authentic and Insightful El Salvador Experience
Although the Santa Ana Volcano hike was unfortunately closed by the government due to weather conditions, I still had a wonderful and memorable experience with Little Tour and guide, Carlos.
Carlos did an excellent job adapting the itinerary and making the most of the day. We visited Cerro Verde National Park, enjoyed a pleasant hike there, took in beautiful views of Lake Coatepeque, and learned a great deal about the history, culture, traditions, and daily life of El Salvador.
What impressed me most was Carlos's knowledge, enthusiasm, and willingness to share insights about the country beyond the typical tourist attractions. Even though we could not complete the original hike, the tour never felt disappointing. Instead, it became a unique opportunity to experience another side of El Salvador.
I highly recommend Little Tour and Carlos to anyone visiting the country. Their professionalism, flexibility, and genuine passion for sharing El Salvador made this a truly enjoyable experience.

Great historical overview!
Carlos was an amazing tour guide. Great communicator because I was running a little late. It was a small group which was great. He shared so much history and was great at taking pictures. We even got to have some delicious snacks along the way. Highly recommend booking this tour.

Perfect for those who enjoy adventure + comfort, want to visit multiple countries in one day, and/or love history!
This experience was even better than expected: it is perfect for people who like adventure + comfort, want to visit multiple Central American in one day, and/or enjoy history!
Tour guide Francisco was an outstanding leader and expert driver, navigating the long route with a cheerful spirit. He is bilingual, kind, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. He also kindly lent me a neck pillow so I could rest better! The AC made it all very comfortable. I was the only passenger that day — so lucky and grateful! — but it would have been just as comfortable with others in the spacious van.
The day started early and I was able to sleep a lot en route. We stopped for gas and breakfast, and I had a tasty meal! One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in my trip actually. You get to see beautiful nature and small town daily life along the route, like kids going to school and campesinos going to work. The journey is (part of the) destination and it’s absolutely true here. San Salvador is a great city but getting out and about gave me even more insight into the country!
Francisco made crossing the borders easy, which is a huge advantage of doing this with a tour. I’m an experienced and confident traveler in Latin America but doing that all on my own would have been much more complicated and longer — I’m glad it worked out well this way.
The Copán Ruinas are fascinating and magnificent!! I enjoyed a personal one-on-one two-hour tour with Virgilio who speaks Mayan, Spanish & English. He’s truly an expert with decades of experience as an archeologist, educator, translator & tour guide. We bonded over both being teachers, although he’s also a teacher of teachers!! I love history but am not a Mayan history buff: however, I learned more than ever from Virgilio than any book or video and hence developed a new appreciation. We walked and climbed a lot but I was able to sit or stand in the shade for most of it. I have been to Chichén Itza in Mexico and enjoyed it; however, visiting Copán was so so much better due to the personalized experience, being super close up to the artifacts, and lack of crowds. If you liked Chichén Itza, you’ll love it here; if you didn’t like Chichén Itza, you’ll probably really like it here.
Afterwards, Francisco drove to the nearby downtown of Copán Ruinas, which is a quaint and charming bustling little city. Again, while it had some tables of souvenirs, it still very much is a lived-in place full of mostly locals. I bought a smoothie, some fabric, two magnets & a tasty lunch of a baleada. It was a nice change to relax and see another place! My tip is to bring cash: they accept lempiras, US dollars & quetzals.
The long ride back was smooth and fun as you could see the sunset and people preparing for the weekend such as by cooking pupusas roadside and relaxing together. I was able to nap and also have another wonderful conversation with Francisco! I am also grateful that he stopped extra for me to use the restroom: if you are someone like me who needs to go frequently, please be assured that you will have many opportunities to use the restrooms along the way and your guide will stop if you ask.
I would absolutely recommend this tour to family and friends and even do it again myself. I had thought about renting a car and I’m glad I chose this tour instead. I’d be happy to go on more tours by this operator too. It is indeed an expensive excursion but absolutely worth it if you’re on the fence. If you have any questions, you can contact them via the app: they’re very helpful and will respond quickly. Thanks for a great trip!

Long but worth it to see Antigua!
Super long day (my pick-up time was 4:20am & I was dropped off after 8pm), as others have said, but worth it! Antigua was amazing. Our time there was well-split between a 2 hour tour, followed by 2 hours of time on our own for lunch & whatever else. I’d have liked to have one more hour in Antigua, balancing the trip between 5 hours on the road, 5 hours in Antigua, and 5 hours on the return journey. But instead we got 4 hours in Antigua.
The guides were respectful & professional & I’d have felt safe with them as a woman travelling alone. The van was spacious & myself and the two other tourists who signed up for this each had a row of seats to stretch out & even nap on, which made the drive easier. I also appreciated that the guides/drivers did not play loud music on the way. This made it easier to listen to podcasts and books about Guatemala on my airpods which made the journey better.

Solo Trip
Rosa was the best host, she was on time and flexible during the trip. She made sure I was safe and on time to each location and with this being SOLO TRAVEL trip I was so comfortable and happy to have her along on the ride. Great person to have on your team. I enjoyed my trip more due to Rosa

Amazing !
The guide we went to was amazing! I wish i could remember his name. All the places were great to see and we got a little time to check out some souvenir shops THANK YOU! He also took us to a beautiful place to try the pupusas. Overall, this was very worth it highly recommend.

Great experience!
The tour was great! Salva was the guide we got and from the driving to the tour itself he made it a great time, comfortable and informative. Every place you visit is worth it and we had plenty of time for each activity/place and got to have a nice lunch along with time to be able shop for things. I would recommend it

Well worth the hike!!!
The hike down to the waterfalls is intense. So wear proper shoes. But once you get to the falls, its well worth the hike. It was about a 45min hike down. Going back up was super intense. Those mountains are super steep. But our tour guide Diego was extremely patient and friendly with us. El Tunco beach was beautiful and there are plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop.

You’ll never be bored in El Salvador, the land of volcanoes with rich indigenous heritage and world-class coffee culture. Sightseeing tours focus on the capital, San Salvador, where you can snack on pupusas between visits to key landmarks and the panoramic rainbow slide. National parks abound here, which means plenty of tours that take you hiking around volcanoes and crater lakes, swimming and cliff jumping by waterfalls, and picnicking at sweeping viewpoints. The variety doesn’t stop there: Other El Salvador tours spotlight impressive Mayan ruins and the colorful cobblestoned towns along the Ruta de Las Flores.
