What are people saying about Charleston

Great Great Tour!
I lucked out, all the tours I saw were at least 20 people deep, our 9:45 am tour only had 3 people so our guide went all out. A 2-hour tour was more like 2 1/2 hours and it seemed like our guide stopped at every house, cemetery and church in the City with knowledge of its history. A side note: BEWARE: this tour starts next to the museum and they DO NOT let you use the restroom beforehand without paying! So much for southern hospitality, especially since those tours likely bring in a fair share of museum business. Ridiculous.

Mark Jones was a great...
Mark Jones was a great guide- he stopped at places of interest that annotated his narratives. In the end, I had an understanding of what made Charleston the city it is today, and it is knowledge which will stick with me. He didn’t just spout numbers and dates. He has a tremendous fund of a knowledge and demonstrates that in a way that is compelling. He is very good at what he does.

Nice half hour boat...
Nice half hour boat cruise out to Fort Sumter with narration by a park ranger! The boat has a refreshment center and bathrooms aboard! You spend approximately one hour doing a self guided tour of the site but there are rangers on site to answer questions. Interesting piece of history to visit. Half hour trip back and make sure to visit the Fort Sumter information center at the boat landing either before or after your trip out to the Fort!

Highly recommend for anyone
An absolutely completely knowledgeable and very fun guy! Also, everybody was completely accommodating, and I found the experience very interesting! The tour guide stuck to the predicted duration as well, and I liked that the tour ended at the same place where it started, which made coordinating transportation easier for me. I would totally recommend this to anybody, especially someone who loves architecture!

Delicious and informative
Our tour guide Perry was AMAZING! The food was delicious. The time was just enough to try different selections of Charleston’s cuisine and learn history for the city. Get ready to burn the calories with the on foot mini tour of the town, which was appreciated in between the food stops.

Great combo of history and local food!
Our tour guide Dana was spectacular! She answered every question we had and gave a great overview of the area and history. Food selections were fabulous - although the intro said: "The four stops will equal a full meal for most people", the food stops equaled about 3 meals per person. The food stops were well organized - we sat right down, the food came quickly and it was all delicious!

Take this tour!!!
Awesome excursion all around the Charleston harbor. The captain driving and giving the tour was clear, engaging, informative and taught us a bunch that we were unaware of. It was a lovely day, so we lucked out. Boat was comfortable, we could walk around or stay out. Plenty of restrooms and great bar.

Nice experience with Brian and Boeing!
We had Brian as our driver and Boeing was our fine horse! Brian was informative and told humorous stories along the way! Our reservation was at 10:30 and we were running a bit early but we checked in anyway. We were allowed on the earlier carriage which was great! Very accomodating staff!!

100% recommend this tour and tour guide
Bill is an entertaining, knowledgeable, and passionate historian and tour guide. He kept the rapt attention of not only the history lovers in our family group , my husband and I, but also our 13-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son. This tour is just as described, an introduction to the history of Charleston, and it certainly whet our appetites to learn more about the area and its impact on the history of the country as a whole. I would 100% recommend this tour, and specifically Bill as a tour guide.

Self guided, Self paced is the best
Once you get adjusted to the map not auto rotating like a Google map, it goes well. Just pay attention, as he says “facing the gate, turn left” which I only heard at gate, turn left. It was great moving at our own pace, pausing and stopping where we wanted.
