This was not one of her best days. The advert photo featured the Cardiff Museum which seemed to be her specialty and why we booked it. We scheduled a Monday. For some obscure reason she forgot to let us know that the museum was closed on Mondays. 🤷‍♀️ She is probably knowledgeable but the route she chose was chaotic with morning business noises. If you go schedule your tour for 11 am.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that the museum visit could not go ahead as originally advertised. The tour had inadvertently shown as available on a Monday, when the museum was closed, and we got in touch with you and explained this to you as soon as the issue was identified. We offered the choice of a full refund or an alternative walking tour of Cardiff, including a visit to Cardiff Castle. You chose the alternative tour, with the option to visit the castle independently at your own pace. As this is a walking tour in a working city, some traffic noise and the everyday activity of local people and businesses are unfortunately beyond our control. We do our best to provide an engaging experience while sharing Cardiff’s history, culture and local life. We regret that the day did not fully meet your expectations and appreciate your feedback.

Parking in Cardiff, like most of the UK, can be quite challenging for tourists. I highly recommend booking a hotel near the castle meeting point or taking the rail in. Because we had a rental car and struggled finding parking, even in the off season of February, we were late to the start of our tour. Our guide, Ildi, was so gracious and helpful. She even invited us to have a coffee and a quick reset before starting the official tour but while still discussing what to expect. This wasn't a typical walking tour this was an experience. Ildi isn't "just" a tour guide, she's an incredibly knowledgeable art enthusiast. My partner and I were so impressed with her vast knowledge of art, architecture, and history. Our visit inside the National Museum Cardiff was extraordinary. She knew so much about famous, local and favored artists. We would have happily spent the entire day just listening to her vast knowledge of artwork. The walking tour had so many hidden gems that we never would have discovered without our amazing tour guide's knowledge. If you have the opportunity to take this tour, I can't recommend it highly enough.
