Unique and fascinating show!!! Definitely watch it;)
The show was unique and absolutely fascinating. It offered an optimal sequence with personally presented information, a very interesting film, and the subsequent impressive lava demonstration. Our children (9, 12, and 15 years old) were also thrilled and grateful for the German translation in text form, since the entire show is in English.

Great Tour
This tour is AWESOME! We visited beautiful waterfalls and the ice cave was mind blowingly beautiful! Our driver/guide for the waterfalls was very nice and informative. Our guide for the ice cave, Boris, was fantastic!! He was knowledgeable and fun. We were fortunate to have a new tunnel to explore that was once of the largest Boris had seen. The blue ice was breathtaking and shows up well in the photographs. This is a must do!!

Check your boots!
This was an intense experience that I would 100% do again! The trek to the glacier is scenic with several stops for amazing pictures. Once we hit the glacier, the crampons kept us stable and we marched toward the center of the basin for a climb down a hole (secured with a rope of course). Down there was a little waterfall we all had to get pictures around. Climbing out was the hardest part. If your boots don't have a VERY strong ankle support, they tend to buckle when trying to climb out. It took everything I had, but of course that is part of the fun! The accomplishment! Be sure to bring food to eat on the glacier. We stopped at a gas station along the way from Reykjavik and grabbed a few sandwiches, chips and water and essentially had a little glacier picnic. The bathrooms at base camp did require money to use (credit card accepted). I would also recommend bringing your own go pro to capture moments. You can't get close tot he edge to capture any friends that are climbing in and out so keep that in mind as well.

A Definite Must Stop!
My husband and I went on this tour & in our opinion, it's a definite must! We saw the flags on our way to Vik & knew that we wanted to stop by & check it out on our way back to Reykjavik. Unfortunately, I do not remember the tour guide 's name, but she was the great grand daughter of the man who purchased the land. The history of these specific man made caves was incredibly engaging especially since this was our guide 's heritage, so it was very personal. It was so fascinating to learn more about Iceland & honestly step into history. One of the caves is thought to be an original church, it was incredible! We wondered why an Iceland historical society isn't trying to preserve and study these caves more, especially with the ancient writing apparent on the walls. It's definitely worth a stop. We saw on our trip a lava cave, an ice cave, and now man made caves. All worth it!

Vik may not have an exciting name—it just translates to “bay” in Icelandic—but this town on the southern tip of Iceland is anything but boring. Sign a waiver, and within minutes, Vik tours will have you riding in a buggy along the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, exploring an ice cave under Katla Volcano, or snowmobiling above it on Mýrdalsjökull, the country’s fourth-largest glacier. Ziplining, paragliding, and kayaking (in a glacial lagoon) are all options if you go with a guide.
