What are people saying about Porto

Highly recommended activity
Very enjoyable experience, having never made natas from scratch. The host (I forgot her name, I'm afraid) was lovely, explaining all about the traditional pastries while getting the participants of the workshop involved in making them. The hardest part was waiting for the Natas to bake and cool down enough to eat!

Great workshop with drinks included
Fantastic workshop teaching us how to make Pastel de Nata and also some interesting Portuguese history thrown in! The two teachers were good fun and kept things interesting for everyone. And the free port and soft drinks included made the afternoon fly by!

I saw the wonderful...
I saw the wonderful reviews of this activity so I wanted to give it a go. I wanted to do something as a family besides sightseeing and I liked the idea of bringing something back home that would reminded us of our time in Porto. The girls were all very helpful and friendly, very well organized.
The whole family enjoyed this, including husband and a teenager boy :)

Terry is amazing. So much fun for the whole family.
We did a pastel de nata making class and Terry was absolutely amazing. I’m coeliac, and even though I had my own workstation, she made sure I felt fully included with the rest of my family the whole way through. She’s an absolute bundle of energy and even got my teenage boys involved and having fun, which isn’t always easy!
I felt so spoilt. It’s not often I get to enjoy beautifully made treats like this, and these were gorgeous. The added bonus of getting to finish off the custard was a lovely touch too. Cannot thank Terry and her colleague enough for such a wonderful afternoon.

Incredible Class!
My husband and I booked this cooking class while on our honeymoon in Porto. Tania and Tomas were incredible! The kitchen was very intimate and made for a more personable experience. Tania is an excellent chef who gave information and history about each dish we made in class. Tomas is a specialist in wine and gave us interesting facts about each wine and cocktail. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Thank you Tania and Tomas!

Really enjoyable food experienc!
We had a great time on this visit to the market and then cooking class. It was lovely to find out about, make and eat local traditional food and wine. Hugo was helpful and funny, and meeting others, cooking together was a great afternoon. A heads up that with the market it's 4 hours, not 3 as Viator says.

Don't Pass Up This Cooking Opportunity
What an amazing adventure. I love a good market and Priscilla was the best person to follow through Mercado do Bolhao. She was engaging and informative and introduced us to some of the vendors. Then it was back to cook. Each person had an opportunity to do different jobs, culminating with a most delicious meal. I would recommend this to everyone.

An experience like no other!
Chef De Melo is truly remarkable—genuine, passionate, and deeply dedicated to both the art of cooking and the people he teaches. His class goes far beyond preparing a meal; he shares valuable techniques, insights, and skills that will elevate your own cooking long after the experience ends. Every detail of the evening felt magical, from the warm hospitality to the hands-on instruction and incredible food. We will cherish our time with Chef De Melo and the memories created there for years to come. He has a rare gift for making every guest feel welcome, and by the end of the experience, he feels less like an instructor and more like a true friend. Highly recommended.

An absolute must-do!
My partner and I did this tour as we traveled through Portugal for the first time. We like to seek out experiences that give us a genuine picture of life where we're traveling and this was exactly that.
Marco grew up in Portugal and graciously showed us around Gaia. We learned so much and had such wonderful conversations with him throughout the day. The food he made was absolutely delicious, as well! This was our favorite day of our 2-week trip, plus we felt like we made a real friend.
I cannot recommend Marco's tour enough! If you like non-touristy, authentic experiences, it's a must-do.

Incredible Porto food tour with hidden gems. Definitely recommend!
Really enjoyed this Porto food tour, it was a perfect mix of delicious traditional Portuguese food, local wines, and exploring the city in a relaxed way that never felt too touristy or rushed. Got to try some great spots around Porto that i definitely would’ve missed on my own.
The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything super enjoyable. There was plenty of food so come hungry!
If you’re looking for an authentic Portuguese food experience in Porto, I’d highly recommend this one!

Excellent experience
We had a wonderful port and cheese pairing experience at Quevedo, the building was wonderful and Miguel, our host, was very knowledgable and friendly. We feel like we learned a lot about port and food science, and thoroughly enjoyed the port. A must do if staying in Porto or Vila Nova de Gaia and would definitely recommend to a friend.

Best cooking class in Porto!
Amazing! Jorge was beyond warm and welcoming and guided us through the cooking class like a true professional! He created a wonderful environment for all the guests and left us feeling like we were cooking with family on a holiday. We won’t forget this wonderful experience! I highly recommend this cooking class! More than 5 stars for the food and the instructor!
