✨ Two countries, one day: Venetian Piran and Habsburg Trieste, less than an hour apart and worlds away from each other. ✨ Start in Piran, its pastel houses packed onto a narrow peninsula in the Adriatic. Wander the Venetian lanes to Tartini Square and up to St. George’s Church, whose bell tower is modelled on St. Mark’s in Venice. Then cross into Italy. Trieste was the Habsburg Empire’s great port, and it shows: grand palaces, historic cafés where James Joyce once lingered, and Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia, Europe’s largest square facing the sea. Enjoy free time to stroll, shop, or order a coffee, and find out why doing it here takes its own vocabulary. For an extra stop, add Miramare Castle, gleaming white on a rocky point above the sea and surrounded by a lush park. It was built for a Habsburg archduke whose story ended very far from here. This is a private tour, so the pace and the stops are yours to choose. Message us after booking and we’ll tailor the day to you.

✨ A river roaring through an underground canyon, and a castle built into the mouth of a cave. Without a car, there’s no easy way to see both in one day. ✨ Start at the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with your entrance ticket included in the tour price. The walk leads deep underground into one of Europe’s largest cave chambers and across a narrow bridge 45 metres above the rushing Reka river. Expect about two hours on foot with plenty of steps, at around 12°C all year, so bring a jacket. Then on to Predjama Castle, the world’s largest cave castle, set halfway up a 123-metre cliff. Hear how the rebel knight Erazem defied an emperor’s army here, and the hidden passage that kept him going. Your certified local guide picks you up at your door and travels with you in an air-conditioned vehicle with WiFi. Ideal for families and small groups who want two of Slovenia’s great wonders without the rush. Message us after booking and we’ll tailor it to your pace and interests.

✨ White horses, an underground canyon and a castle built into a cliff, all in one private day from Ljubljana. ✨ Start at Lipica, home of the Lipizzaner horses since 1580. Visit the stables, walk among the white horses and, in season, watch them train or perform. Add a carriage ride or a relaxed lunch on the estate. Then descend into the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the Reka river rushes through one of the largest underground canyons on earth. The guided walk takes about two hours, with plenty of steps, and crosses a bridge 45 metres above the river. Bring a jacket: it stays around 12°C down there all year. End at Predjama Castle, the world’s largest cave castle, wedged into the mouth of a cave halfway up a sheer cliff. Hear how the rebel knight Erazem held out here through a year-long siege, and the secret that kept him going. This is a private tour, so the pace and the stops are yours to choose. Message us after booking and we’ll tailor the day to you.

See the Vipava Valley, Slovenia’s warmest wine country, from above before you taste it glass by glass. We begin with an easy hike to a (not so) secret viewpoint where the whole valley opens up beneath you: vineyards, stone villages huddled around their belfries, and the steep wall of mountains that shelters it all. Only then do we head down to the wine. Just an hour from Ljubljana, this valley stays green all year, where Mediterranean warmth meets Alpine air and the fierce burja wind sweeps through. That mix gives Vipava wines their freshness and makes it home to native grapes like Zelen and Pinela, found almost nowhere else on earth. At a local family winery overlooking the karst countryside, you’ll taste them with a plate of air-dried pršut, hear how they’re made, and discover why that wind shapes far more here than the vines. This is a private tour, so the day is yours to shape: a longer hike, an extra winery, a slower pace. Message us before booking and we’ll tailor it to you.
