What are people saying about Zhangjiajie

Cara was an excellent guide!
Cara was an amazing guide. We were so fortunate to be able to spend three days with her. Her English was clear and easy to understand. She reached out to us ahead of the trip to answer any questions and to make arrangements for our travels. As a local, she has so much invaluable information about the parks, the province, and life in China. It was so insightful and interesting to have additional of context. We had so much fun on the trip. We had rain 2 out of 3 of the days but Cara was able to provide suggestions on how best to navigate the park. The agency had reserved VIP passes for some of the sections that had longer wait times. Cara helped us determine if it was worth using or whether we should save our money. In our off time, she gave us suggestions on places to eat, things to do, and made any additional arrangements required for our trip. It was an excellent experience. Thank you again, Cara!!!

Although the weather was...
Although the weather was awful and I didn’t get to see everything, our guide Christina was very positive and helpful. She took us to the best spots for pics and go around the crowd. The day after, when the weather was clearer, she kept contact and gave me tips on how to go around myself. Thank you!!

Great day with Wendy, Avatar Mountains and Glass Bridge
We had a great day at the national forest with Wendy. The park is huge and very difficult to navigate as a Westerner. It was helpful to have Wendy quickly get us from spot to spot. The only challenging part of the trip is that there is quite a long wait time for the elevator and buses. It sounds like there is a VIP pass that can be purchased a day in advance so it might be worth investigating that if you’re going and open to the extra cost. It will save a lot of time.

Zhangjiajie Mountains (aka: Avatar Mountains)
This place is magical but get ready to walk…A LOT! Get a guide! It can be very difficult to navigating the different buses that you you need to take, especially if you don’t speak Chinese. Avoid national holidays and the summer months as the lines can become unbearable (several hours long). Best times of year to visit are spring and fall. Although avoid the national holiday week in early October. Lastly, definitely get a guide. We booked the 2 day tour and our guide, Bingle was exceptional!
