Grutas Tolantongo itself...
Grutas Tolantongo itself is a breathtaking destination with stunning turquoise waters, relaxing thermal pools, caves, and beautiful mountain views. Diego helped us make the most of our time there and provided a great tour with wonderful conversation. He made the long drive enjoyable, shared interesting information along the way, and ensured everyone felt comfortable and safe. Every moment was absolutely magical. Highly recommend - you will enjoy every moment!

Colorful San Miguel
When traveling to new places I always enjoy a tour of the historic center to begin my trip.
This was excellent. Our tour guide, Filipe, was knowledgeable and personable. San Miguel has a long and colorful history and Filipe told its story that kept us all engaged. He eagerly answered any questions we had. I highly recommend booking this tour.

Must do!
Our host Diego was very friendly and helped prepare us for everything we needed to bring and what to leave home. Our pickup was seamless and the breakfast option was fantastic (and vegetarian friendly)! We had fun conversation in the comfortable SUV and he handled our noisy kids in the third row like a champ!
Tolantango was a wonderful experience. The hot pools were sublime on their own, but I wasn't expecting such a magnificent canyon view beyond them! The cave/tunnel was our family's favorite part of the trip and it was the most unusual part. Traversing through warm water while cold water pours upon you is invigorating! Our older two kids are confident swimmers and had no issues, but we held close to our youngest. Be mindful of bringing too many little ones that aren't strong swimmers.
Lunch was great and so was swimming in the river. Although we didn't get much time there and that felt rushed. But it was kind of expected when we have so much distance to cover in one day.
Overall wonderful experience for our family we would recommend anyone to try! Note: we went on a weekday and especially the hot pools were fairly crowded (but not too bad). I've heard it can be much worse on the weekends.

Excellent value, people and wine.
This proved to be an excellent adventure. Leo, our driver was both charming and informative.
The winery itself was an idyllic location in both landscapes and buildings.
This was paired perfectly (wine terminology) with the knowledgeable tour hosted by S Stephanie. She brought the story to life and added so much to our enjoyment.
Now throw in several very enjoyable tasting options and you have an experience that exceeded our expectations.

Jesus was Exceptional!
The drive from San Miquel de Allende to Guanajuato was delightful as Jesus filled us in on the tour itinerary and gave us a historical and cultural framework that perfectly set up our time on the ground in Guanajuato. Once there he led us through the very dense urban core of the city and we were able to enjoy the many architectural gems and the wonderful plazas and public space. Highly recommend this tour in general and Jesus in particular!

Great food drinks and company.
Omar was great and his commentary often bent the history discussion towards the history of food in Mexico which was a really interesting angle. Great mix of foods and drinks including beer tequila and mescal. Felt like we went to more places than advertised. Your fun may depend on your group (ours was great) but who signs up for tacos and tequila if they aren't down for fun? Definitely recommended.

Locations, food, and guide were amazing
Pasquale, the tour guide, was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible.
The food was excellent, especially the dessert flan. The 5 stops were more than enough for a hearty appetite. Consider it dinner, it was more than enough.
We were fine, but some folks with mobility issues need to know there are lots of stairs. Pasquale patiently waited and double-checked to ensure every person was ok.
This was my first food tour. Do it, the venues and food were great.

Omar was great !! Highly recommend
Our tour guide was Omar and he was amazing !! I did this tour with my boyfriend and it ended up just being us three in total for the duration of the tour, but it was a such a blessing. More intimate and lots of time for questions and conversation. Omar knows a lot about the history of San Miguel de Allende and the way he weaves the stories into how things came to be in present day is remarkable. Food was accommodating to my vegetarian diet (my partner did get his meat) and it was truly delicious. He even gave us cocktail/dinner suggestions (and contingency plans) for after the tour- which was amazing !!! We ended up going to both locations he recommended. Ended up being 3 hours likely because it was just us three so less waiting around for a bigger group, but it was the perfect amount of time for us. Highly recommend !!!

Amazing winery
Driver (Angel?) showed up on time and professional. Winery was beautiful. After a comprehensive tour, we sat for our wine tastings. Marco at the winery had been out of university for a year and had studied in the industry. He provided detailed information about the area, property, winemaking and answered our questions. We had generous pours and repeats when finished. We each had our own charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, grapes, olives, breadstick, and raw honey. We chose not to do the extra walking around on our own or to sit for lunch, so he called the driver who came to pick us up within 15 minutes. We purchased a few bottles of wine from the store and also ordered a cocktail to enjoy on the patio. We started the experience at exactly 12:30 PM and got back to our hotel by 3:30 PM. We were picked up at the location, which was a 6 minute walk from our hotel. And on the way back, we asked the driver if he could drop us to directly to the hotel and he was happy to do so.

Una noche fabulosa, a foodie paradise
Our San Miguel de Allende Landmarks and Gourmet Tour was an unforgettable experience! We explored the city’s most iconic sites—each one brimming with history, color, and charm—before diving into a delicious culinary journey. My favorite dish was the taco de jicama, my favorite drink was the mezcal de frutas de pasión, and my favorite postre was beautifully prepared with pan de muerto. We visited five incredible restaurants, sampling everything from creative appetizers to exquisite main courses and an indulgent dessert..
Our guide Pascal was absolutely spectacular—knowledgeable, a talented musician and passionate about sharing both the city’s history and its vibrant food culture. Their storytelling and attention to detail made the tour come alive. This experience was the perfect blend of culture, flavor, and fun. Highly recommended especially if you’re traveling solo, great way to connect with expats or other travelers.

Fantastic trail ride and cultural experience
This was the highlight of our trip. I booked a half day excursion for my partner's birthday. We had such a fun day! It's so much more than just booking a ride. Thomas and his family are very welcoming and the day starts with a special Mexican coffee that is delicious, followed by learning to milk a cow (if you choose) making your own special Latte:-) The horses are fantastic..very surefooted and trustworthy. Thomas and all the wranglers make it a blast with suggestions, singing and general good cheer as you embark on a great ride down to the river and back with several different terrains and beautiful views of the countryside. On your return you are served a delicious homemade lunch in a beautiful spot not he property. One of the best meals we had the whole trip. Highly recommend for a family, small group of couple. You don't want to miss this experience!

In the Mexican state of Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende has long been a haven for artists, expats, and retirees drawn to the colorful and quaint Pueblo Magico (Magic Town). Fly over the beautiful center in a hot-air balloon or learn to make salsas, moles, and other regional specialties during a cooking class. And if you get tired of the easy life, other San Miguel de Allende tours amp up the energy by taking you hiking in the Sierra Gorda Queretana mountains.
