Increase your odds of spotting wildlife, and do so in comfort, on this cruise through the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve aboard Newfoundland's largest, most comfortable catamaran. Aboard a spacious catamaran with ample viewing areas, look for puffins from mid-May to mid-September and whales from mid-June to mid-August, with icebergs visible in May and June. Enjoy live commentary about local wildlife and heritage as you explore Iceberg Alley and its diverse seabirds.

Ocean Safari with us and experience the best of what the season has to offer. Whales and dolphins are our main stay during the season but are usually limited to June through August regularly. Icebergs can be seen usually between April and July when they are passing through. We are part of the UNESCO certified Discovery Geopark. The geology of the area is from the Ediacharan Period of the geological record and holds the fossil record of some of the first life on the planet. We will include this as part of the narration of the area and the wildlife that we see. Though wildlife is never guaranteed our guests can expect to see whales, dolphins, birds and waterfowl in season as well as icebergs, puffins, gannets, eagles and many other birds. Sunfish are a regular sighting in the falls and Leatherback Turtles and Sea Eagles have been seen.

Climb aboard your catamaran, sail back into the ice age and hear about the history of the formation of the Tablelands in Gros Morne National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is one of the few places on Earth where you can see the planet’s mantle. Formed 450 million years ago, through a collision of continents, admire elevated plateaus of the Long Range Mountains. Enjoy a guided tour through a natural landscape shaped by ancient glaciers; spot bald eagles, moose, whales, and seabirds; and get a close up peek at a charming Newfoundland fishing village. Woody Point, a small rural community is rooted in history and heart. Talented musicians will entertain you on board with traditional NL music and song. And if you’re visiting from “Away,” you won’t want to miss becoming an Honourary Newfoundlander in a traditional Screech-In ceremony.

Relax at the end of a fun filled day with a leisurely sail into the sunset aboard the Emm-Cat, our 100 passenger catamaran. With the Tablelands and Gros Morne Mountain as your back drop, and the Atlantic ocean breeze in your face, enjoy the beauty of glacier carved Bonne Bay, live onboard entertainment by our NL musicians and a hot or cool beverage. A perfect opportunity to capture that special photograph.
