Tours and Tickets to Experience Fort Rotterdam
Fort Rotterdam

Fort Rotterdam is a must for anyone spending time in Makassar, but will particularly interest history buffs and fans of Indonesian cultures.
While the fort is free to enter, donations are requested. It’s good form to offer at least 10–20K rupiah per head.
Makassar is home to many keen students of English, who frequent the fort looking for foreigners to practice on at weekends. Be prepared!
You can see the fort in as little as 20 minutes, but La Galigo Museum deserves at least an hour and ideally two.
The fort has bathrooms and there are plenty of snack options on the front.
Sulawesi is not a wheelchair-friendly destination and strollers are not a great option either. Neither the fort nor the museum have been adapted for wheelchair users.
