Unlike large cooking schools, this experience takes place in our home and is intentionally small, personal, and interactive. We don't see our guests as students sitting in a classroom. Nos cocinamos juntos, compartimos historias, intercambiamos consejos de viaje, hablamos de la vida en México y pasamos la noche como amigos alrededor de la misma mesa. Chef Sergio is originally from Yucatán, one of Mexico's most celebrated culinary regions, and loves sharing family recipes, local traditions, and the cultural stories behind the food. Many guests tell us that their favorite part isn't just the cooking, but the conversations, laughter, and genuine connection they experience throughout the evening. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, with friends, or with family, you'll leave with new skills, a full stomach, local recommendations for your trip, and a deeper understanding of Mexican culture through the warmth of a real family home.

When we first arrived in San Miguel de Allende, the only thing I missed was good cheese. It took some time and effort, but I finally discovered several superb local artisan cheesemakers hiding in plain sight. Known as the Empress of Cheese, I've been studying the art and science of cheese for over 20 years in Canada, the US, France and in Italy and have spent the last few years exploring the culture of Mexican cheese, specifically, artisan made European style cheeses. Now I share my knowledge and the divine cheeses I've found with others. Come learn about the rich history of European influences in Mexican artisan cheese and where to buy, how to serve and pair these cheeses with drinks and condiments and how set up a French inspired cheeseboard. Everything is sourced locally from the artisan cheeses to the herbs, flowers, honey and other ingredients used in the class. The class is held in our home with a view over the city with the beautiful pink marble Parroquia in the center.
