Yes, Dubai Jet Ski rentals and tours are considered worthwhile, even by travelers who have never jet-skiied before. Riding any personal watercraft on the Persian Gulf is a fun way to escape the hustle and heat of the city. Plus, you'll get unique views of Dubai's world-famous skyline, including the Burj Al Arab, which makes for an epic photo backdrop.

Per one customer who booked the Dubai 1h Jet Ski, Burj Al Arab, Atlantis, Ice Cream, Photo, Video package, "An unforgettable adventure on the water! The Jet Ski Tour was the perfect way to see some of Dubai's most iconic landmarks—from the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis to the Palm and even views of the Burj Khalifa from the sea. The tour was well-organized, with professional and friendly guides who made sure everyone felt safe and confident. The Jet Skis were in great condition, and the ride was both thrilling and scenic. Stopping for photos with the skyline behind us was a real highlight. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add some excitement to their Dubai trip!"

Before booking a Jet Ski rental in Dubai, be aware that jet-skiing is typically not recommended for travelers who are pregnant or those who are suffering from heart conditions or other health issues. Most tours advertise that riders should have a “moderate” level of fitness. Also, research the Jet Ski models available, and consider upgrading if you want to go faster or ride with a passenger. Cheaper models are usually fine if it’s just you and you don’t have a need for speed.

To fully enjoy your Jet-Ski rental in Dubai, pay attention to the safety briefing and follow all of the rules (especially those about restricted zones). Start slow and practice turns before going full gas. Also, make sure you have a good grip on your phone or camera if you plan to take photos; even better, pack a lanyard or GoPro with a handle that floats.

Many consider the best place to jet-ski in Dubai is Jumeirah Beach in front of the Burj Al Arab, where the calm waters and low boat traffic make it ideal for beginners. You’ll also find rentals at nearby Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina. Regardless of where you ride, you’ll be on the Persian Gulf and enjoy a different perspective of the city’s skyline.

As with most major cities, Dubai has rules and regulations for jet-skiing. Jet Skis are not allowed near public swimming beaches or in areas with high boat traffic. There are also speed limits, especially the closer you get to shore. Most rentals require you to be at least 16 years old to operate a Jet Ski. Wearing life jackets or personal floatation devices is mandatory.

Most Dubai Jet Ski rental outfitters rent out equipment in 30-minute increments, with a minimum of 30 minutes. You can also rent Jet Skis by the day, and often they’re cheaper per hour that way. However, for most travelers, one hour on a Jet Ski is plenty of time to cruise around while stopping to take photos.

Yes, there are many guided Jet Ski tours available of the Dubai coastline, including group tours and private tours. Most tours last either 30 minutes or one hour, allowing plenty of time to see major landmarks like the Burj Al Arab, where you’ll most likely stop to take photos. Some packages even include professional photos or photos taken by your guide, who is usually a certified Jet Ski instructor.

You’ll want to wear comfortable clothing, such as a rash guard and shorts that can get wet while jet-skiing in Dubai. Even though Dubai is more conservative, it’s fine to wear swimwear as most rentals are offered at beaches catering to tourists. And while you can jet-ski barefoot, water shoes or sandals will keep you more comfortable when walking on the hot sand and surfaces. If you have sunglasses or a hat (both are a good idea), make sure they have a strap. Finally, make sure to wear the life jacket provided by your rental company.
