We had an amazing time on the Paradise Island and Mangrove Tour in Punta Rucia, Puerto Plata! The 1.5-hour drive through small villages was completely worth it. The experience was beautiful, and the service was excellent.
A big thank you to Lotta for the great communication and organization, and to Mathias and the rest of the crew for making the day so enjoyable. Everyone was friendly, professional, and helpful. Highly recommended!

Our trip started rocky..got picked up in a van and transfered on the side of the road. Booked on viator and wasnt informed the time of pick up.
The activity itself amazing. It was so much fun. The speedboat was by far the best.

Amazing !
Amazing experience ! Beautiful island.
Great tour guides. Clean charter bus with A.C. . Tour guide was providing historical facts about the island . Also spoke many different languages so everyone on the trip could understood him which I thought was nice. Wish the stay on the island was a little longer than 2 hours. Suggest to bring your own water/drinks and snacks for the island itself as you cannot purchase anything there.

worth the long drive
DR Experience was great with Euzébio (Guide) being the most knowledgeable guy on the DR. The isle is actually a sandbank but nonetheless beautiful and the mangrove near by is a must.

Great Snorkeling
We did 4 excursions on this vacation and this was the best one. The snorkeling at the island is great. The food and drinks were great. We did some of the mangroves slowly learning about them and the wildlife, then we did a neat speed boat trim through some of them. The transport is a bit long from Peurto Plata, but well worth it.

Cayo Arena
From start to the finish we had a great experience. The bus trip was exceptional, the guide as well. The 12 km speed boat ride was impressive.

It was really fun and the food was amazing!
Just a heads up, you can’t wear shoes on the island. There were a few sea urchins hiding in the corals further out so just watch your step.

Although the drive to Cayo Arena was a bit long, it was worth it. Our tour guide was very informative. The sand bar was lovely, snorkeling was cool. The mangrove tour was a hit with the family. We talked about the experience for days after the trip. A must do!

A BLAST in the Paradise Sun 🌞
The drive to get to Paradise island was about 2 and half hours long but Matias and Emanuel kept us entertained all the way.

Bring your own towel. Bring water. The boat ride is so much fun. Opportunities to buy souvenirs. No water shoes allowed.

Super fun experience, pretty much a full day, but they do take care of you nicely, provide a wonderful lunch and snacks!
The crew took their time to make sure we sell plenty of fish.
Took my two teenager daughters, and a friend we had a blast

When to visit

The natural landmark El Morro, a 777-foot (237-meter) limestone mesa, is located in Monte Cristi National Park, which is also home to mangroves, subtropical dry forests, and swamps.
Keep an eye out for The Seven Brothers Cays (Los Cayos Siete Hermanos)—several small islands that serve as the nesting grounds for a number of reptile species.
There is very little shade on the island and typically none on the boat, so hats and sunblock are highly recommended.
Tours typically include equipment for snorkeling, lunch, and unlimited drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic).
