Anhumas Abyss (Abismo Anhumas)

Travelers must join a tour to enter Anhumas Abyss. There are strict limits on how many people can enter the cave daily, so advance booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Entering and exiting the cave requires rappelling through a small hole that widens into a larger cavern. The descent and ascent are the equivalents of a 30-story building. There is no other way in or out.
Visitors must brave heights and pass a rappelling test in Bonito the day before the tour to be allowed to join.
Children must be 12 years or older and pass the physical test.
Depending on the water level of the cave, visitors can choose between snorkeling and diving. Diving numbers are strictly limited, and certified divers must bring proof.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring swimwear, a towel, warm clothes or layers to wear inside the cave, sunscreen, insect repellent, water, a snack, and a camera.
Tours do not usually include transportation. Visitors have to organize their own transport from Bonito.
