Great Tour Despite the Rainy Weather due to Jake the Tour Guide
Jake, the Tour Guide was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and gave the history of the key areas. He was very personable and patient with our group. The van was clean and the driving was smooth even with the rain. The waterfalls were breathtaking and amazing! It was nice of Jake to take pictures of us to add to our everlasting memories. It was unfortunate that we could not see Mt. Hood due to the weather but it was a nice tour and worth taking!😊

Mt. Hood National Forest
  • Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood is a must-visit for film buffs: some of the most recognizable scenes in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining were filmed here.
  • Wear layers, even in the summertime, as temperatures can be significantly cooler in the forest than in the nearby Willamette Valley.
  • If you’re visiting outside of the summer, you should bring snow chains.
  • Cell phone service is limited in much of the forest.
