Day trip from Alexandria to El Alemein
Guide Heba and driver Essam were both excellent. In addition to seeing the cemeteries and museum for the battles, Heba explained the development and noteworthy sites along the way.
We were treated to a very good lunch as part of the tour.

Extraordinary and emotionally overwhelming
One of the most moving, evocative tours I've ever been on. The El Alamein museum is well laid out and informative. We could have have spent hours more there. The hardware o display is incredible. The war cemeteries are something to see. The German & Italian cemeteries are beautiful architectural monuments but the Commonwealth cemetery is is extraordinary and emotionally overwhelming.
Mr Mohamed was our guide again today and explained everything succinctly with respect and compassion. If this is your area of interest it's definitely a not to be missed. Our driver 'Redd(?)' got us there & back again safely - no mean feat. Thank you

El Alamein Museum
The drive from Cairo is 3 hours but the museum is a must for any WWII history buff! We especially liked examining all of the found tanks and cannons

Really glad I went….
Really interesting visit to El Alamein - visiting the Commonwealth Cemetery & the Museum. Well worth the trip to pay tribute to those that fought & died in the battle. Our guide Sara & driver Haitham were friendly & helpful.

Visit from home
Visit to El Alamein where my mother's brother and my darlings' mothers brother were both killed in the battle. Brought our aroha from home.

Great Guide
Mahmood is a fantastic guide. He's well-educated, engaging, friendly, and flexible. Visiting the Commonwealth Cemetery was a moving experience. We were able to add on a tour of the Serapium for a very reasonable price. This is where Mahmood really came into his own. We then modified our drop-off to a restaurant Mahmood recommended for a truly authentic Egyptian meal at a family restaurant, Kebab Ouzi.

El Alamein Tour
The journey was emotional but was helped by the knowledge and assistance given by our guide and our driver. The cemetery was well maintained and to see the ages of those who died was a sobering sight. Worth the journey from Cairo but it was a long day for all concerned.

Excellent tour
Beautiful cemetery, so happy to finally visit my great grandfathers final resting place. Makes me feel good knowing it is such a well kept cemetery.
Our guide and driver were excellent - very knowledgeable constantly sharing bits of interesting information along the drive. And nothing was an issue for them. We even asked to stop off at the beach for a quick look and some photos.
Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit El Alamein.

Good day trup
The tour guide Mohab Ahmed was brilliant, did everything he could to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. He was very knowledgeable and informative about El-Alamein and the surrounding area and was a really nice guy, so ask for him!

Lucky to be able to pay my respects.
We were extremely happy to be able to visit the Commonwealth Cemetry where I was able to visit my grandfather's grave after being denied this by Covid 19. From my point of view, it was very heart felt after having served my country for many years but being lucky enough to never been sent to a conflict. Seeing the approximately 4200 graves at this Cemetry, which is just one of a few cemeteries for the battle of El Alamein for soldiers, sailors and airmen, airwomen and anyone else involved from all nations involved just shows how cruel we are as humans towards each other. I pray for each and every one of their spirits, no matter their country of origin.
I would also like to thank the Egyptian people for the donation of the land upon which these people have been laid to rest, for the workers who keep the grounds looking so great and for the countries that help to pay for this, financially, which I believe is their responsibility now and, in the future, to help remind us of the brutality of war.
The El Alamein War Museum was wonderful, and our guide was very proud to explain to us Egypt's role in the war. But how wonderful would it be if there were no wars.
Our guild was very informative, and our driver was very good.

Trip in the end great. Guide was terrible!!! Would recommend the tour but get a much better guide.
When we eventually got to the right memorial in El Alamein for the Allied forces including New Zealand and Australia it was fantastic. Not sure Viator why we joined another tour but the guide took us to the German and Italian which our countries were in conflict with. She was lovely but had no history of this event. That was disappointing.
