What To Expect
This horseback-riding tour begins with pickup by air-conditioned van from your Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo hotel or the cruise ship terminal. Travel for to the stable located in the south part of the Zihuatanejo County. Make sure to wear pants and closed toed shoes, and don’t forget sunblock, mosquito repellent, and your camera.
Upon arrival, receive a safety briefing and instruction. Kind and gentle, the horses are suitable for riders of all levels. The horses are well-fed, but wouldn’t refuse an apple or carrot if you happen to have one with you.
On your trusty steed, follow after your guide at your own pace. Journey through a small community at Playa Larga beach, then on the shore where the waves wash over your horse’s feet.
Pass a lagoon populated with birds and mangrove trees, and continue into a coconut plantation.
Then, your guide starts the return journey to the stable. Say farewell to your horse and enjoy a cold beer or a bottle of water, before you’re transported back to your hotel.

Had a great time. Luis picked us up then we met up w Ramon. Both were great. Learned about the area. The horses were very intelligent and knew exactly where to go. We were on the beach, then passed by a lagoon, then through a coconut plantation. Galloping was out of the question for me, so my girl didn’t get to do it either even though she wanted to. Would recommend. It’s beautiful here.

Great experience with Pablo, Luis & Ramon. The horses were very sweet, gentle & well care for. The ride was perfect for a summer morning before it got too hot. Highly recommend.

Guillermo was our driver and picked us up at the hotel was very polite spoke great English. Then Ramon was our guide on the horses and he was fantastic and made us feel very safe. Our group had a fantastic experience.

This was absolutely amazing! The horses knew exactly what to do and it was a relaxing and truly enjoyable experience! Walking along the beach as the waves came in made it a beautiful experience! Well worth the time and money!

I can't recommend this enough - it was a great experience, and our guide Pablo made it even better! We got to ride the horses around town, down the beach, and back. It was a very pleasant ride and is great for the whole family.

We were picked up as promised outside of our hotel. The ride from Embarc to Playa Larga was scenic and enjoyable. The horses appeared to be well-treated. They were also docile and easy to manage. Although our young guide spoke little English, he was charming and helpful (carried a phone to translate when necessary). The beach is beautiful and we rode up to a salt water lagoon where a crocodile decided to make an appearance. For some reason, we did not ride through the coconut plantation - just alongside of it on the beach. Our driver, Pablo, spoke excellent English and was full of interesting facts. We were most interested in his description of local herbal medicines made from the local plants. He stopped and picked a couple of guava for us to sample and recommended a tamarind margarita which my husband tried at a restaurant that evening and loved.

Host was super accommodating and kind. You can get picked up and dropped off at your hotel (in a van that is well air conditioned🙏🏼) the horses are gentle and friendly, and the ride is very beautiful.

Ramon our guide was absolutely amazing! We got picked up and dropped off which was so convenient. The horses were well trained and so smart. The area was so beautiful. We would definitely go again.

This was a very nice experience. The horses were well trained as promised. The guide (Victor?) was very patient and experienced. Gave good commentary along the ride. We wore closed toed shoes, although based on what others were wearing, it was not an enforced requirement. Totally worth the money!!

WOW this beach is amazing. Great horseback riding tour. Our guide knew so much about the plant life and made sure to stop to have us try local wild fruits. Horses were well behaved. Just so you know this isn't just a slow walk on the beach, you will do a lot of galloping and trotting to make sure you have time to see it all. Would love to come back and stay on this beach, I believe it is dangerous to swim in but so so pretty.
