Overview
Witness the wonder of nature while helping baby turtles. This small-group experience takes you to Troncones Beach, Playa Blanca, or Juluchuca near Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo where turtles lay their eggs. Under the guidance of a wildlife expert, you'll have the opportunity to release a freshly hatched turtle and cheer them on as they run toward the ocean.

We had a Great experience. Learned a lot about the different sea turtles from all over Mexico. Very informative. Pretty amazing letting these little guys go into the ocean. The tour guides were great and we all had a good time. If you are ever in the area definitely look these guys up for a great experience

We were exited for the turtle release and it exceeded expectations. Andy and Fabian were fabulous and the hands on with the baby turtles was amazing. We have gone on many tours and these guys were top notch.

It’s out of the way and a bit of a drive, but worth it in every way. Is private so you don’t have to deal with others and the owner gives you his full attention. The kids loved it!!

This was a beautiful and rewarding experience! Mariana met my sister and I at our hotel lobby. She informed us that we would be the only ones on this trip, and that she would take us to Playa Icacos (about an hour drive) where the beach is deserted and calm. On the way there, Mariana spoke about the towns we were driving through and about her life here. She was informative, engaging and entertaining. When we got to Petatlán, we followed Baltazar and Freddie to their “Campamento Tortuguero”. The way to the beach is absolutely beautiful; dirt roads surrounded by lush trees and beautiful palm trees. When we arrived at Icacos, we were the only people there!!! Baltazar sat us down, gave us information about the turtles they protect and about their foundation. He explained what we would be doing and made sure we didn’t have any questions. We proceeded to transfer the turtles into baskets. Since it was just the two of us, my sister and I each transferred around 25 to 30 baby turtles into baskets. Then we walked over to the shore and released them. We stayed at the shore watching each of them scurrying towards the water. It was so rewarding to realize that we helped all those turtles get their opportunity to survive. We took some pictures and recorded their journey. We left the area around 6:20 pm. After dropping off Freddie, we proceeded back into the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo area. We had a great chat with Mariana on the way back. She also offered us drinks on the way there and on the way back. She was always attentive, friendly and helpful. I will always remember this day fondly. I hope you also give yourself the chance to experience this! When we come back, we would love to find Mariana and do this again! Thank you Mariana!!!!

We had a wonderful excursion on Monday releasing baby turtles in Juluchuca Playa Icacos! Ulises was very communicative with me before the trip. Mariana was a wonderful host! While we took a shuttle ride there we were offered some drinks and she provided a lot of information of the towns we drove through to get there. It was just my husband and I on this excursion so we were lucky to release MANY baby turtles into the ocean! It was such a cool experience and would do it again!! Thank you!!!!

We loved the turtle release!! Mariana and Paco were amazing guides. Very friendly and laid back. We got the whole experience to ourselves, and got to release about 10 baby turtles. Magical! Would 10/10 recommend

I had a great time but require a refund for the $30 I paid for two hotel pickups, which did not happen. I requested this from the tour provider before we set off but still have not heard from her. Thank you Michelle Faul
