    Great tour!

This was a lovely experience! We had an on-time pickup. We enjoyed exploring, learning, smelling, and tasting the spices of Mtausa Spice Farm. And even more we enjoyed cooking as a group; our dishes turned out great! My only suggestion is that the listing be updated to say “hotel pickup for a fee, if outside of Stonetown” there was a bit of confusion with if it was included or not in the beginning. All said, we enjoyed the experience, and I would recommend.

    Eye opening experience!

We enjoyed the Spice Farm....the cooking class was interesting but maybe a home, not a boarding house would be better for the cooking class! People came and left during the experience! Would consider a different environment!

    Amazing tour!

You Need This Spice In Your Life!

This tour is a must in Zanzibar! We were guided by Lukem to Malanga Spice Farm which is a local co-op farm. Upon arrival we taught by Hassan and it was one of the most educational/interactive tours ever. You’ll learn more about spices and fruits even if you’re a spice and fruits connoisseur. Our tour was special and allowed bonding as part of our honeymoon, as we did the cooking portion which allowed us to prepare traditional Zanzibari food with a chef in the village. It was warm, African/Swahili love, and it helped us connect with our roots. We had fresh coconut picked by the dazzling “Butterfly Man” who sang happy bday to us, and made us king and queen of the spices. We also picked up spices, fragrances, and soaps during the tour for great prices! Lukem and Hassan and all the people of the farm are great! You won’t regret this tour and you get a lot for the price!
