What To Expect

Select a morning or evening start time and head to the base camp at Kitsilano Beach’s north end, where you'll meet your guide and tour group. Get a brief lesson in safety and paddling before launching your kayaks into the sparkling waters of English Bay. (Note: Single or double kayaks are available.)  Designed for beginner kayakers, no technical paddling skills are required.

Follow your guide into False Creek, an inlet at the heart of Vancouver. As you glide along the urban shoreline — site of the Expo ’86 World’s Fair — view floating homes, bustling marinas, and spot native wildlife like seals, herons, kingfishers and more. You’ll pass under lovely bridges that span the inlet, and view landmarks like Science World, an enormous glass sphere reminiscent of Epcot Center, and BC Stadium. Soak up city tales from your local guide as you loop the inlet.

Whether viewing the city in the early morning or in the golden glow of sunset, this tour offers a unique way to see Canada’s great western metropolis. Your 2.5-hour tour concludes back at Kitsilano Beach.

We had a great day on the water with Simone as our guide. She made it informative and fun, at a relaxing pace. Highly recommend this tour.

It was a beautiful 2-1/2 hour experience paddling in the bay with Vancouver cityscapes in view. There were two kayaks including mine on that trip following our guide Justine. Justine was very professional and pleasant. She had so many interesting stories to tell about the buildings and the boats we saw along the way. It was just about as challenging or relaxing, depending on how you think about it as I had thought it might be I am 50. Highly recommended!

Fun tour! The guide was very knowledgeable but sometimes went ahead of the group so we couldn't always hear what he was saying. It was neat to see False Creek from the water and learn a bit about Vancouver's history. Luckily we had the perfect weather so it was a very enjoyable paddle.

Our tour guide, Brandon, was excellent. We were newbies to the sport, but he soon had us paddling right along. We learned so much of the local scene, history and economy while seeing some of the most beautiful coastline ever! Would highly recommend him!

It was our first time to go kayaking and we were apprehensive at first. but our guide Brandon made it easy and comfortable for us to learn the basics and before we knew it, we were paddling away! Great way to explore the city in a different perspective. For those wanting to bring home memories from this unique experience, I suggest that you bring waterproof cameras. My regret was that we didn't bring ours.
