Great tour to see a really cool part of Trinidad completely unique from Port of Spain -- and get some great food on the way!
Pavel_K, Nov 2025
I really enjoyed this tour. It is focused on the Indian heritage of Trinidad, so maybe best to take as a follow-up of your overall introduction to the island. The driver/guide was very good, knowledgeable and polite. Pick up at the hotel on time. You also get an opportunity to taste excellent doubles and roti.
Bring a hat and wear sunscreen.

This tour was an eye-opening experience. We were able to see so much more of Trinidad than we imagined. Don’t think we would have seen this without the tour. Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and took us to fantastic spots like the Chaguanas market and the Temple of the Sea. I would recommend adding dress code to tour description, just in case someone wants to enter the temple.

Junior was great! We experienced some really bad traffic, but Junior made the best of it— reordering stops, etc. We enjoyed the tour very much!

This is a great tour that allows you to get a snapshot of the cultural diversity that exists within Trinidad and Tobago. The Chaguanas Market gives you a slice of daily life with vendors selling everything from fruits and vegetables to meats and household items. Our tour guide, Junior, was excellent and gave us commentary on everything we were experiencing. Then, we went to two Hindu temples and learnt about how embedded they are within these communities. Then, we finished off the tour with some local cuisine (at our expense). I really loved this tour because it was short and sweet. The T&T sun is punishing and I had forgotten my hat, so I was glad that I didn't have to stand out in the sun for too long.

We enjoyed this tour a lot. We were picked up from the cruise ship and shared the excursion with another family of four. The van was comfortable and the driver was great. The itinerary was very interesting. It was centered around the Indian heritage of the island. We visited two beautiful Hindu temples, stopped by a roadside restaurant serving Indian food for lunch, visited a market. A huge credit for this tour goes to our tour guide, Khalil. He was one of the best guides I have ever met. Engaging, knowledgeable, passionate about his country, willing to answer any questions. His commentary was very interesting to listen to and gave us a very positive impression of Trinidad, even though it is generally considered a relatively dangerous island and is not usually included in cruise ports of calls. Khalil even bought fruit and local delicacies for us to try from street vendors. The restaurant that he recommended for lunch was excellent. I hope the tour company that Khalil works for recognizes him for his excellent work!

Khaleel was our tour guide and Niel was our driver. Both of them were friendly, knowledgable and kind. It was just our family and a couple on this tour. The vehicle was convenient. Khaleel took us through the magnificient seven and stopped at a lookout point for pictures. Though not on tour, he tried to show us Ibis, their national bird, but our luck didn't cooperate. He shared many information about his amazing island country and never for once frowned to answer our innumerable questions. He also took us to a road side eatery to try the famous 'doubles'. We went to the market in chaguanas and then off to the temple and finally stopped at a roti shop where we all had the best meal- roti lunch!! Was delicious! Also special thank you to Khaleel and the couple who traveled with us for letting us take a quick KFC break for my boys:-) It was a wonderful immersive experience of local life and cuisine and would highly recommend this tour to anyone trying to get a good island experience. Khaleel and Neel- thank you both for giving us an amazing experience!!!

Walking through the market. Observing Hindu religious sites and customs. Eating bake and shark. Language a bit of a challenge.

It's the guide that makes the difference and Khaleel was really informative, helpful and flexible, giving us guidance not only on where to visit, but tips on decorum and safety during our trip. The fact that he referred to us as 'guests' reflected a very different mindset, and was hands down our best experience of Trinidad.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Much appreciation for sharing your experience with us. We are happy to know that you
enjoyed what our beautiful sister islands have to offer with Khaleel :).
Hope to have you again with us.

Boring! We spent 45 minutes at the market learning about ginger, turmeric, eggplant and cabbage. Then we were made to buy cloth to cover up at a temple we never went in. All we did was stand around outside in the hot sun. We never went to the pottery studio or museum.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
So sad you thought the cultural tour that you booked was boring.
You were briefed at the beginning of the tour with regards to the stops and the requirements for the temple visit, hence the reason you were asked to acquire cloth to cover up, you cannot visit a temple in beach wear...
Please read your tour description before purchase.
We received a 5 star review above from the other clients that were with you on the tour.
Have a wonderful day.
