The operator was right there at the port waiting for us. Our guide, Vincent, was very friendly. We arrived safely and he took us to a quiet location, where we rented beach chairs and umbrellas. The water was crystal clear and a beautiful turquoise. There was a cute restaurant on site, where we had the most delicious lunch. We recommend this tour.

We went here as day trip to this island as part of our cruise. The beach was awesome but we took service to transport us to beach . The van was in time but only available to drop and pick and the charge seemed pretty high of 40$/ person . We do get taxi when we dock at $15/person

No it is not $15 per person and if you go in the taxi on the dock you have to wait until the taxi is completely filled before leaving and also the same for coming back. We also give you a history of the island going and coming back., which the regular taxi’s will not.

Our driver was a great driver and very personable. He navigated the twisty and windy roads carefully, while imparting interesting information of the island. Came Garden Beach is one of our favorites and we appreciated having our driver stay and make sure we all got back to our ship on time.

Short drive from the Cruise Port nice beach with ability to buy snacks and drinks. Very busy. Would like to have more time at beach. 4 hour excursion with short 15 min ride each way and the rest is wasted at stops to buy trinkets that no one wants.

We were expecting the perfect beach day. What we didn’t expect was the EXPERIENCE to get to the beach! Our driver,Clarence, was waiting for us right outside the cruise port with a sign. The sign he holds is the name taxi company, so know the name of the company when you head out. It’s on your Viator ticket. Clarence was punctual, polite, and gave us one heck of a ride to the other side of the island. For those who don’t know Tortola, it’s a 20 minute ride, over the BIG hill, around sharp turns, and a narrow lane to get to the beach. Clarence explained this to us, told us he knows the roads like the back of his hands, then told us to “hold on”. The ride to the beach WAS the experience. Clarence stopped at some scenic places on the way over and back. Beautiful pictures! My husband and I held on, we laughed, took pictures, and just enjoyed the experience. Thanks, Clarence! You are a gem! Take the ride to the beach! It was awesome!!

The staff at the best and it's restaurant were extremely unfriendly, and appeared resentful with our presence. It appeared that one of the staff may have been high or intoxicated.
The beach chairs and umbrellas were in poor condition.
The beach itself was quite nice and picturesque.

I have nothing to do with the restaurant, umbrellas and chairs, so why are you rating me on there performance. I don’t even know how much they charge for them. There is several vendors there for food chairs and umbrellas along the beach you could have gone to any location some better than others.

Ok, since the tour was reserved from VIATOR we were expecting to see a VIATOR Sign....that was the main resonancia we got a little bit late

Sorry for the confusion but we instruct everyone on the viator information ticket to meet at the information booth and the driver will have a sign mark Payne’s Tour Services. We also always text your phone number the night before with instructions and picture of information booth. Sorry again for confusion.

Very kind & easy going Vincent. We had an old lady with a wheelchair, young kids, all in the taxi. He was polite & helpful. Beach is stunning. 2 chairs & a brolly $20.

We did this as a day trip from our cruise. They kept informed by text. Had a driver waiting in the port for us. We were the only ones on this trip. Our driver Lisby was awesome, he stopped so we could take pictures on our way to the beach. Beach was beautiful. Lisby was right on time to take us back to the port. Great service!

We were driven to the beach by a taxi service which is all that was included. Beach chairs and umbrella, food and drinks were all extra. If you looking for a quiet beach day keep looking. There were two other bars playing competing music.

Vincent picked us up at the cruise port and we left at the time that we were told. As we got on the taxi my husband realized he forgot his cash and a credit card. When we arrived at the beach Vincent was absolutely amazing and saved the day for us, he paid for the chairs and umbrella so we could enjoy our day, we had told him as soon as we got back to port we would get his money for him to pay him back, we ran into someone at the beach from our ship so we were able to borrow from her to pay Vincent back when it was time to get our ride back to the ship. Vincent made our experience at the beach perfect. We want to thank Vincent for his kind hospitality and his willingness to help us out. Vincent gets 10 stars!!

Very good communication prior to excursion. Finding our guy at port really easy. Roads are hairpin twists and turns with stops for views and pictures. Our group was given the option of what time to go back to ship which was nice. This beach was beautiful. Chairs and umbrellas in front row, (go early). Bar, food and bathrooms available and close. Picked up promptly at 4:00 and taken back to port. Really enjoyed our day and would recommend to all

Our group was small, and we went to a lovely private beach. The beach had all the amenities you would want…chairs, umbrellas, drinks, food and restrooms. It was a very peaceful way to spend the first day of our cruise.

Exciting, relaxing, and fun! We enjoyed LITERALLY every minute of this excursion. Vincent was our driver and he was informative and entertaining; the ride to the beach was exciting and fun (amazing views!) and the beach was relaxing and beautiful. We rented two chairs and an umbrella for $20, beer and frozen drinks were cheap and plentiful, and the waitress was friendly and attentive. We spent almost the whole time in the water.
If I could give these guys six stars I would.

Best time ever. Vincent treated us like family. He and Amos picked us up promptly and worked with us on the time since our ship was in early. Cane Bay Beach was incredible, picture perfect. They arranged for a quieter, private spot outside Rhymer’s where Aleja helped us with chairs and umbrella, delicious breakfast on the beach, good non-alcoholic and alcohol drinks. Chairs were literally in the water’s edge in the middle of the bay. We had a friend using a walker and they made sure he was taken care of as well. Highly recommend. Favorite day of vacation. There are also jet skis and paddle boards for rent next door to where we sat.

As it turned out, we were so glad that we booked our trip to Cane Garden Bay Beach through Viator and not one of the cheaper independent taxis. It was worth every penny to have a safe, reliable driver. To get from the cruise ship to the beach you go over a very steep mountain road with lots of twists. And to make it more exciting it rained on the way back. But we were not worried at all because we felt completely safe knowing that Viator only hires very reliable drivers.

Bobby took great care of our family when we were in Tortola, and made our experience very fun. Communication was excellent and everything ran so smoothly! We were able to rent beach chairs and umbrellas for a good rate as well as snorkeling equipment, and the nearby restaurant and bar was so convenient!

This was a gorgeous beach! We met Bobby at the info desk, clear directions from Viator made this easy. We climbed in a clean and air conditioned van and headed up Andover a narrow, windy mountain road to this bit of paradise on the other side of the island. Bobby was an expert driver - the hairpin turns and oncoming traffic were no match for his skills. The beach was lovely (just $25 for two chairs, umbrella, clean bathrooms and WiFi for the day) and several large groups arrived after we did. We had a quiet beach to start the day! Bobby met us for the return trip and expertly navigated traffic and the wild roads to get us back to the ship in plenty of time!

Transportation was punctual and the driver was friendly and shared some local information, which we appreciated. However, this excursion is essentially just a 15-minute ride to and from Cane Garden Bay. After arriving, it was clear we could have taken a local taxi for a fraction of the cost.
If you’re looking for convenience and guaranteed return to the ship, this may work for you, but for the price charged, the value simply wasn’t there. I wish the description had been clearer that this was transportation only. The lady was so rude that you rent the chairs from and after you're done at the beach there is NOWHERE to rinse off before you go back.
