Overview
Head out for a hike in Tortola in Mount Healthy National Park and get your steps in, and some beautiful views. This is great for port visits, since it’s only around two and a half hours. You’ll head into the semi-rain forest for a nice hike. You’ll end up at a natural spring where you can try your hand at catching crayfish, and even explore a hidden bamboo meadow.

Walk up the mountain is strenuous. The view at the top is beautiful. The beach is beautiful but they charge for chairs.

This tour was truly exceptional. A lot of ground is covered comfortably in the A/C van, and our guide, David, was wonderfully informative—sharing insights about local plants, charming stories, and keeping a close eye on all eight guests during the easy, short hike. He was attentive to the group’s pace, especially since most participants were 60+, and checked in anytime he heard someone exerting themselves to ensure everyone was managing the downhill trail and return climb safely.
We enjoyed a lovely break at a historic sugar mill with a selection of packaged fruit and fruit juices before continuing on to a still‑operating sugar cane distillery. From there, we headed up to Skytop for stunning 360° views of the surrounding islands, with additional scenic stops along the way for photos overlooking the port and our cruise ships.

A great walk for mobil people.. Not too arduous but there is some uneven ground and boulders so good shoes are essential. We were met by our tour guide, David. He was very kind and knowledgeable about flora and fauna and their medicinal uses. He drove very carefully as the road on the trip to the mountain were quite narrow, but David was good fun. After our walk we were given some cold cloths ro refresh before having a delicious pot of fresh fruit each. The tour progressed up to the Skywalk from where we had fantastic views of all of the surrounding islands, the names of which David knew by heart. Apparently, on a clear day you can see Puerto Rico on the horizon from here. We then proceeded to a very old rum distillery for rum tasting before returning to the ship via a lovely, scenic drive along the coast. A great morning outing. I would certainly recommend this trip which we booked through Trip Advisor and Viator.

Private tour just my wife and I. Kahliim did a great job giving us a tour of Road Town. The hike is not challenging but it has some areas that might test your balance, steep downhill and rocky terrain. Essentially you follow a cow trail down into the valley and learn about native plants and flora. The highlight is seeing Dynamite Trees. A great 2.5 hours to see the natural side of Tortola.

Sef was an excellent guide! He led us on a beautiful path through the forest on Mt Healthy. He was very knowledgeable about Tortola, the native plants and trees, explaining the many ways they are used to keep people healthy. It was fun to have fresh coconut water, only minutes after it was on the tree! The views he showed us were amazing. It was a great experience, and we would highly recommend it!

David was a wonderful guide that showed us a lot of different plants and explained what their leaves and bark are used for medicinally. Very interesting.
Only suggestion would be to take a walking stick if you have any kind of knee issues as there's a lot of loose terrain.

Kaleem was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. We learned about many of the plants and some animals on the island. The hike was misnamed. I would call it a nature walk. The hike was a very, very short distance, but we learned a lot. We walked in total, maybe less than half a mile. Still Kaleem was great.

We all had a great time! It was the first & only botany lesson my kids have ever enjoyed! Kahliim was full of knowledge about Tortola botany and culture. My husband even mentioned it as a highlight from our week-long cruise trip!

This was a lovely, easy hike - about 1.25 miles round trip. The guide was great at plant identification and telling us about Tortola. He was very knowledgeable. The fruit at the end was good and the lemonade particularly noteworthy - a definite fan favorite.

We signed up for the Mt. Healthy hike tour on Tortola. The weather did not cooperate that day, due to the rain our guide Sef changed the itinerary to include a tour of the prison museum which was very interesting, the governors mansion, and a rum distillery. We drove to the top of Mt. Healthy instead of hiking to see the historic distillery. We loved learning about the history and culture of the island from Sef, he is clearly passionate about his home. The views were incredible!

Five star tour and tour guide! Met our guide, Seth, at Beans on the pier in Tortola. Very friendly and excited to show us a good hike. After sizing up our fitness ability, Seth asked if we wanted to do a slightly more difficult route. We were game so off we went. Seth gave us some information about the island as we drove to the trail head. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his home. The hike itself was incredible. Slightly challenging and so fun. I highly recommend this hike and this tour guide! The Beverage and snack provided was thoughtful and refreshing. We felt well taken care of and safe at all times. At the end of the hot hike we were given cool towels scented with lemongrass, a classy touch. We would definitely use this group again.

Private Hike... just the two of us and two guides. We had a great hike into the forested areas of Tortola with lots of good information on the local ruins, plants, trees, herbal remedies, animals and traditions. The rain did not dampen our hike, which was followed by a guided ride around the island to get some good photos. Highly recommend David and Khaliim as guides. They were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.

We loved this hike -- both guides were so personable and shared their knowledge of the flora & fauna of Tortola -- there were a couple of tricky spots where you had to walk sideways or hang on to tree limbs to steady yourself, but I wouldn't characterize it as strenuous. We were glad it was in the morning, as it was getting pretty hot by the end (grateful for being under the canopy of trees most of the time). The fresh lemonade, fruit, and lemongrass towels were such a treat at the end. I'd definitely recommend.

We booked this private excursion while on a cruise and thoroughly enjoyed the information on both the drive and nature hike. We learned a lot about the island and saw some beautiful scenery. What I liked most about the tour was it was different and small. It really made it more enjoyable to hike and see nature and learn about the country without being surrounded by lots of people, Seth was so gracious and learned a lot about the BVIs.

Sef was a fantastic guide for our family group of six. He took us to Sage Mountain National Park and provided a lot of insight about life on Tortola. The drive up provided many breathtaking views of the island. Sef truly loves his home of Tortola and was proud to share with us some of the beauties it contains. He shared many interesting facts about the park, plants and wildlife and made the experience enjoyable for everyone. We would recommend this excursion to everyone. The one-on-one attention, the information shared about the island and the breathtaking views made this a fun and unique experience that we will not forget.

I had been in Tortola two other times and found it beautiful but nothing special. But this hike in the national park with my grandchildren turned out to be the best way for the young teenagers to hike and see nature. The guides explained many of the vegetation we viewed and explained. I appreciated the guides assistance when as a grandparent needed some assistance on the trail since parts were slippery due to the earlier rain. If you are no into beaches and enjoy nature with an adventure hike, this tour is well worth your time.
