Itinerary

Your three days of driving tours begin with morning pickup from the hotel of your choice in Tbilisi and transport on board an air-conditioned vehicle to the top sights in and around Mtskheta and Tbilisi. Relax on board and leave the tricky traffic to your driver guide as you zip between the highlights in and around the city, from the Narikala Fortress to Tbilisi’s aerial tramway (tickets not included), before drop-off back at your hotel.

On day two, your driver will pick you up in the morning at your hotel for the three-hour scenic drive north through to Mount Kazbegi. Take in sweeping vistas, pristine waterways, and a medieval fortress and monastery while you learn a bit about their history with on-board commentary. At the end of the day, enjoy convenient drop-off directly at your hotel.

End your three days of touring Georgia with a day dedicated to the Uplistsikhe Caves. Set off from your hotel with your driver for the 90-minute trip to Uplistsikhe, with stops along the way at the Memorial History of Georgia and Stalin Museum. Explore the caves at your own pace before your final transfer back to your Tbilisi hotel.

Our guide, Aka, was friendly and very accommodating for all our requests. I didn't rate the experience as 5 stars for 2 reasons. First, because we were all over the place with the supposedly planned schedule. The time management was not at its best so we didn't get to do all of what was written to be done. Second, regardless of how genuine and nice our guide was, he was a local more than a professionally trained or licensed tour guide. Thus, the "guiding" was very brief and my family and I sometimes ended up tuning in with the more talkative and detailed tour guides.

Initially we had no contact of the tour operator or person who will be picking us up. But on the start of the day of tour Mr Aka the tour driver arrived on time at the pick-up point and took us around. The tour was compact and well represented to give a proper glimpses and experience of Georgia. It is suggested Viator provides the contacts of the person and car details beforehand to avoid last minute anxiety.
