Our excursion with Carlos was absolutely incredible. The tubing and cliff jumping/rope swinging into the lagoon was so much fun. The second trip which included a jungle hike (we saw howler monkeys, snakes, and iguanas) and swimming through a raging river in a cave to one of the most beautiful waterfalls we’ve ever seen was like nothing we’ve ever done before. Our local lunch was peaceful and delicious before the final hike and massive waterfall. We enjoyed free coconut water and story after story from our guide Carlos, who made sure we had as authentically local of a trip as possible. He also provided water, tea, beer, snacks, and stopped for bathrooms/quick shops whenever we asked. Carlos could not have been a more fun or knowledgeable guide - if you are considering booking this excursion, do it. There is zero chance you will regret it. Pura Vida!

Our guide, Juan Carlos was one of the most knowledgeable guides that I have seen in a long time. He made the experience very comfortable and exciting. He also took into account what we wanted to experience and what we wanted to look at and made sure that we got every single thing on our bucket list checked off thank you so much for having such a wonderful guide

You will see some of the best views that Costa Rica has to offer from this experience. The food and drinks that were offered during lunch were very authentic to Costa Rica cuisine. Paul and Luis were very good tour guides and made us feel safe throughout the forest and various activities. Wear your best hiking shoes and be prepared to burn a lot of calories with the amount of hiking and swimming.

We had Paul as our tour guide as we went down the most beautiful lazy river I've ever seen. He made sure to capture every moment and he was very funny. He made our experience memorable and we were thankful to have him. When we went to the Lorena waterfall we picked up Jordan who took us through an intense hike. He was great, he took us down natural water slides, took us cliff jumping multiple times, and was able to show us some of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen. We ended with a great lunch at a local spot right next to the waterfall. This is a must do Excursion if you are in the area it is Unforgettable and so much fun.

We had an amazing day with Paul our tour guide. It started off easy with a lazy tube ride down the river and led to cliff, jumping. We then hiked to waterfalls. We swam through small canyons and at the base of the waterfall swam again. Lunch was also freshly prepared. Paul, our driver came in to lead our tour on his day off and he was fantastic.

Amazing day! Paul was our driver and he was super friendly and joyful to be around. Our day had a great mix of relaxation and sightseeing, and Paul took tons of photos and videos for us to remember it by. My favorite part of our entire trip was the Le Leona waterfall! Highly recommend this tour.

Greddy gave us an AMAZING tour! He had us laughing the entire trip! The tour would have not been the same without having Greddy as our guide! He made the whole experience soooo much fun and comfortable! It was the highlight of this trip! Thank you so much Greddy for an incredible day that we will never forget :)

Amazing experience in Costa Rica, Paul our guide was the BEST! Ask for Paul to be your guide. We 100% recommend this adventure for a true Costa Rica experience of tubing, cliff jumping and adventure hiking!
Thank you Paul, we had the best time!!!

Excellent guide! Natalia gave so much information about Costa Rica and was super helpful with the hiking and the waterfalls. The lunch and the driver were amazing. Could not ask for a better time!

This is a physical must-see experience. I strongly recommend Raul (our guide) and Paul (our driver). Their enthusiasm for their country and culture were inspiring. The places we visited were breathtaking and incredibly memorable. Don’t waste your time with other tour operators. This was small group and hands on. I believe Sweet Costa Rica is the best!

I thought this would be more "relaxing," but it was actually quite active. Lots of walking/hiking and walking on uneven rocks through the river. However, everything we saw was beautiful and it was a very cool experience.
Also it was noted that no alcoholic beverages were provided even though it said included.
Our guide was about 30 minutes late but no big deal. It was a private tour just me and my partner. That made it neat but also a little awkward as we never really knew how much time we had at each location and we felt watched.
I would be careful with this tour if not in shape or elderly.

Raul was fabulous! He was so knowledgeable about Costa Rica, the wildlife, the foliage, etc. we had a great time! The waterfalls were beautiful! We ran out of time to go to the 3rd waterfall (due to our schedule not his) so instead Raul gave us a tour of some other areas of Costa Rica on our way back to the resort.
Linda_B, Mar 2025
Wonderful day and fun tour! Would highly recommend this tour with Raul as your guide. He provided so much information about Costa Rica throughout the day and made it such a fun experience! It’s a little challenging but Raul gave us guidance throughout and made it so enjoyable!!!

Our experience with Greddy felt like our first authentic Costa Rican adventure and our trip wouldn't have been complete without it! We got to see three breathtaking waterfalls, enjoy authentic cuisine, and explore various magnificent terrain. The hike and swim in the second waterfall was no joke, we are both in good shape and we were extremely sore the next day—be prepared! Well worth it for an amazing day with Greddy! He is funny, knowledgeable, and pushed us to see the amazing parts of Costa Rica.

We don't even know where to begin! This trip was beyond amazing. Javier met all of our needs and then some! Could not have had a better friend for this day! He was patient, helpful, and encouraging. There is a lot of walking, rocks, ladders and beautiful views at the end of each hike. We are both so happy we did this excursion. We are still smiling about the whole day! Javier thank you for helping me over come my fear & helping Maggie cliff dive. Would definitely do this trip again especially if Javier was our guide!!
Roseanna & Maggie!

We had Javier and it was an incredible experience. He allowed us to enjoy our time together while chiming in To share history and significant landmarks. We had such a good time jumping into waterfalls and hiking! The lunch that came with the excursion was the perfect amount of food, and it was tasty. The day is a long day, lots of time spent in the car in the beginning and the end, but it is worth it. Thank you Javier and Sebastian (who was Javier’s partner we would see periodically along the way!)

So much fun! It was a good challenge but our guide helped us navigate the terrain. The waterfalls were gorgeous!

Our guide was Raul and he was fantastic. He picked us up on time, and was very friendly and engaging. He shared an incredible amount of information about Costa Rica, the environment, and indigenous plants, animals, and the ecosystem. First, he took us tubing at a local river. After we finished the float, Raul spotted a family of Howler Monkeys above us in the trees. The alpha male was sounding with that deep growl they make that gives them their name. We then hike down the river to a deep pool for some cliff diving. Raul also spotted some beautiful green vine snakes along the way. We then went to La Leona and were joined a second guide named Alberto; he was also great. They drove us up to the trail head and we hiked through the forest eventually reaching the river that opens up to La Leona waterfall. You can’t help but feel like you’re in an Indiana Jones adventure. When you arrive at the opening to La Leona you pull yourself through the river against the current via a guide rope. At the end of the guide rope you pull yourself out of the water and use small rebar rungs to traverse the final +/- 20’ to the pool below La Leona. It’s a bit of a challenge, but very worth it. La Leona is spectacular and the experience vindicates all the effort it took to get there. On the way back, our guides spotted a beautiful baby viper. Although they are venomous, they’re extremely docile and very much avoid humans. We then had lunch in the local pueblo of Curumbe. After lunch, we drove to a remove waterfall named Llanas del Cortez. The walk to the waterfall was pretty easy and the falls were incredible. The water is relatively shallow and we were able to walk out in the pool below the falls to within about 100’. We were exhausted when it was over and woke up sore the next day, but it was a fantastic experience and we would do it all again in a heartbeat. This tour is for the adventurous traveler, not for those who prefer to sit on the beach at an all-inclusive and sip free drinks. This is real native Costa Rica as it should be experienced.

This was our first visit to Costa Rica, so we were eager to set up some excursions to see the sights and learn as much as we could about the region. This tour did not disappoint, and our guide, Raul, was a huge part of that. He picked us up promptly at 7:30, and led us on an 11 hour adventure of a lifetime. One tough thing about Costa Rica is that you spend ALOT of time in a vehicle getting to points of interest. Raul made this an educational opportunity, and shared so many interesting facts, stories, and observations about his culture, the various parts of Costa Rica, wildlife, and pretty much anything we wanted to learn. He did all of this while easily being the safest driver that we encountered during our stay, lol. As for the adventure itself… I should preface this by saying I have a few fears, including water and heights. My husband thought this sounded more “my speed” because it involved floating down a lazy river. It did indeed, and it was a beautiful, relaxing experience. The water is a cool shade of blue, and devoid of any aquatic life (aka no crocodiles or piranha…bonus). I do wish this segment could have lasted a little longer, but we will always remember it because Raul was fabulous about taking photos and video for us with my phone. From here we did some easy hiking to explore a still section of the river where you could do cliff jumping (my husband was brave enough to try it!). There was also a little cave you could swim into but we didn’t do that part (water phobia). We finished up this location by doing some easy hiking to observe a gorgeous waterfall from the top. That’s where the relaxing piece ended…. Our next stop proved to be both exhilarating and terrifying (for me, anyway). We met up with our additional guide, Stephen, and embarked with a group on a hike to swim inside a cave with a waterfall. Sounded innocuous enough… we were given life jackets and told that we would have to hold onto a rope to work against the current to get into the cave. Despite my water issues, I felt empowered by the life vest, and Stephen was very helpful and encouraging. I will say that the hike to our destination was not trivial… I’m a fairly fit person, so endurance wasn’t an issue, however, be warned that the footing is extremely treacherous- lots of wet rocks to navigate, ladders up and down cliff sides, and bat caves to crawl through…. And that’s just to get to the real fun. We arrived in a cavern with several other people, and received instruction about how we were going to get inside the waterfall cave. This part is MUCH harder than anticipated… not gonna lie- I was terrified. You basically have to scale along a rope against the current hanging upside down like a sloth… that part I actually handled pretty well and was proud of myself. The trouble was, when you reach the end of the rope, they throw you a boogie board, which you’re supposed to grab while they pull you up the side of a huge rock… the last thing to defeat in order to get into the waterfall cave….well, let’s just say that rock is SUPER slippery, and my feet had no purchase to help me pull myself up. It took four lovely young men (including Stephen and Raul), to help finally get me up and over that rock… at which point I was having nothing short of a panic attack…. Anyway, when we reached the other side, the waterfall was beautiful to behold. Again, wish we could have spent more time on that side after all the work it took to get there… I was kind of hoping for some type of Eden-esque beach that we could throw ourselves onto for a few hours, but nope… had to go back… over the rock (decidedly easier this direction), and then let the current propel you back to the starting point. Somehow the treacherous hike back didn’t seem quite so scary after all that, lol. They rewarded us with a delicious authentic Costa Rican lunch at a local cafe, which we inhaled as it was nearly 2:00 at this point (note to self, if you do this tour, pack a snack and eat it before you attempt to find the hidden waterfall- you will need energy). From there, we were taken to one last beautiful waterfall, and got to view it from the bottom and the top. Raul was gracious enough to take my camera out of a ledge and get some insane photos and video from above (I wasn’t going close to the edge…remember, heights phobia?). He then navigated our way back to the hotel, all the while giving us more valuable education. His mantra was “Face your fears”, which I definitely did on this tour. So if you’re looking to see some beautiful sights, learn lots of great stuff about Costa Rica, and maybe even face your fears, this tour is for you!

Josue was an amazing guide.he picked us up from our lodgings and was on time. He knew so many facts about what we were doing and seeing. He kept us well informed of the schedule and our Costa Rican lunch was delicious. There was a point on our last hike where, due to high water levels to a waterfall, there were a lot of tourists; he polity requested to go and help as we were waiting to advance. The line went significantly faster because of his expertise. He’s an excellent driver and passionate about his country and what it has to offer. He made the trip very enjoyable and fun.

What a perfect day of adventure and fun! I went with my 11yo son and we had an amazing time with our guide Alberto. River float was a great way to start. An adventurous walk and swim through the river and into a pretty epic rope walk through some rapids was truly exhilarating. We had a wonderful lunch, and then ended with a spectacular swim right by a waterfall.
They didn’t have cliff jumping, which was a little disappointing, but it was still a truly amazing experience.
