Our tour was made a special day by Jose, our guide. From the moment we entered the car Jose was focused on making our day perfect. We learned a lot about Costa Rica and its rich history on the ride to our tour, and then the magic began. Jose had a trained eye to find wildlife like monkeys , snakes, and sloths as well as his tremendous expertise at identifying birds. We were able to see so many interesting things, and then to top it off was the Rio Celeste waterfalls! So beautiful. A great day led by a great guide, Jose. We would highly recommend the tour, and even better with Jose!

Great intro to CR

Lovely day, albeit long. Alex was a great tour guide. Picked up at Waldorf at 7am and got to national park around 9:30am. Hike to waterfall was about 15-20 mins, with some areas that were steep. Could not get all the way down to waterfall but did get some great photos. Hiked back and then hit up the fruit stand for some yummy coconut water and fresh fruit. Vendor's name was Margarita and she was lovely and welcoming. Next we drove by the blue river and my friend decided to take a quick swim. On the way out of the area Alex noticed some monkeys in the trees and stopped so we could see them. We drove about 5 minutes to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch (rice, black beans, salad, tilapia, plantains and local cheese) plus fresh fruit juice/smoothie. The last part of the day included a hike through the rainforest where we saw monkeys, birds, sloths, etc. Very cool. Then we made coffee from scratch and chocolate from scratch. A final stop was made at a souvenir shop. Again, very long day but was our only day away from the resort so we needed to pack in a few things.

Amazing experience. Alex was a great guide. The waterfall was beautiful but a very long trek. The coffee and chocolate experience was great. The food was fantastic and we seen a sloth, viper, tucan, red eyed tree frog and a dart frog. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience for all ages. We saw Sloths up close along with snakes, frogs and birds. The waterfall was amazing and the Costa Rican lunch was very good. Jose is an expert in the flora and fauna of Costa Rica and was a terrific tour guide.

This trip was amazing. Every part of it. Highly recommend Esteban and 506 tours. Esteban was so knowledgeable and a great guide. We saw everything! Sloths, baby sloths, frogs, snakes, vipers, toucans. Bring raincoats!! Enjoy.

My family just returned from a weeklong trip to Costa Rica. We can't speak highly enough about our experience on this tour. From the rainforest/waterfall, to the sloth sanctuary, and the coffee and chocolate plantation, as well as a traditional Costa Rican lunch, each part of this excursion was top notch. We travelled with our two children (ages 11 and 9) and they loved every part of the experience. Our guide Esteban was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and went out of his way to make the experience memorable for our family. We highly recommend this tour and on our next trip we will look to this company to book another tour.

The hike to the waterfall was absolutely gorgeous. We loved the sloths and saw a baby high up in a tree as well as toucans and frogs and so many wonderful animals. The coffee and chocolate tour was really cool too and delicious!

We had a great day traveling to Rio Celeste and the Sloth Sanctuary. Estaban was knowledgeable, helpful and answered all of our questions. On the hike to Rio Celeste Esteban pointed out different plants and animals along the way. Leaf-cutter ants and a viper were highlights! We only had time for the sloth sanctuary, but it was a must visit. During our time there we saw several sloths, including a baby sloth, and frogs to name a few. Overall a great day and experience. 100% recommend!

A must see tour

Esteban and Junior were great tour guides who truly have a penchant for nature. They both went out of their way to show us any animal they could. In total, we saw the following animals: toucans, turtle, white face capuchins, tayra, possum, eyelash viper, sloths, blue jeans frog, and, green tree frog. Our visit ended with a wonderful tour of a coffee and chocolate farm. It was a very memorable and worth it trip!

José made this an absolutely wonderful trip! From the very beginning, he shared his depth of knowledge on both the adventures for our day and Costa Rica overall. He, and our driver whose name I misplaced, went out of their way to make us feel at ease and well taken care of with snacks, drinks and great conversation. It was a beautiful day exploring the rain forest, falls and nature preserve. I think we everything I could have imagined (from tree frogs to toucans) outside of a pink elephant (I know from our conversations that José would have found one). We fully recommend this tour, and this company, to make your trip to Costa Rica complete!

Costa Rica highlights in a day

Jose was great. Rio Celeste was amazing. The hike was a beautiful walk under the canopy of trees. We saw monkeys and birds, flowers and an amazing wasp nest. The sloth sanctuary was spectacular. We were fortunate to see a sloth down low. Two tapirs, bats, frogs, toucan and more. The grounds are beautiful and the staff wants you see all the amazing sights around you. Wonderful lunch and Jose talked to us about modern Costa Rica as well as ancient. Great day.

Excellent tour itinerary, guide, and driver. The trip had it all: countryside, national park, waterfalls, great lunch, soo much wildlife, and someone to explain the stories and facts behind it all. Getting to be so close to a sloth was amazing! Our guide Danielle (Danny) and our driver Junior were awesome. We learned so much about Costa Rica and the nature at the National Park and the Sloth Sanctuary. They were fun and knowledgeable about so much! There were 20 people in our group and we all enjoyed it so much!

I am disabled and use a walker and also has my elderly mom with me and 2 younger neurodiverse kids. I did a private tour so that I could take my time and modify the trip if needed. The two guides ( Junior and I forgot the other guys name) we had were amazing and were always ready to help my mom and I, even anticipating our needs. We did the shorter waterfall hike and it was just as gorgeous. 5 starts for the actual tour guides and the 2 tours. The 4 stars is for due to the attitude of the person I conversed with on WhatsApp while confirming details of the trip who was condescending at times. I almost cancelled due to that interaction but I'm glad I didn't. The tour itself was phenomenal.

This was a very nice tour. We did have a person in our group roll their ankle, and was not able to complete the hike. Fernando, and Junior (our guides) were top notch humans. They ended up having to carry my aunt back to the park entrance and showed nothing but compassion, and seemed not annoyed and in tune with our group the whole time. They very much saved the day and our group ended up having a great time. Beautiful. Pura Vida!

Almond Sousa, our tour guide, was an absolute gem! He knew everything from the name of the volcanoes to the names of each animal we saw. When we were driving and he saw some monkeys in the trees he stopped and let us out so we could take pictures. He made sure our beds were taken care of. And the restaurant and souvenir shop he took us too were amazing! Everyone was friendly and he knew everyone as well!

Making sure to stop on the road and show us birds and other unique things when he spotted them. The Sloth sanctuary is a must. We saw so many animals and sloths of course! We even saw a sloth with its baby. Don’t hesitate and book this tour!

This family run tour business was amazing. They were kind and we were the only two on the tour. The sloth experience was wonderful with an additional tour guide who knows a great deal about the ecology of Costa Rica. It was a lot of fun. It was great to see the rainforest.
