We had a private tour scheduled for 10:00 AM and arrived at the designated meeting location 45 minutes before our scheduled time. Our tour guide Alexandre was not there.
The guide later explained that he had tried to contact us at 8:30 AM. However, we were on a cruise ship and did not have cellular capability so we never received his message or were unable to read it until we took a tender and made it to shore. Regardless, our tour was scheduled for 10:00 AM, and we were exactly where we were supposed to be at that time, actually, well ahead of that time and there was no tour guide.
When we finally reached him, he told us he was about 20 minutes away. I asked him to come pick us up anyway, even if it meant having a shorter tour. I specifically told him, "That's fine—just come and get us." Instead, he was reluctant to do so and after speaking briefly with my husband, he told my husband that he’s not coming back and effectively canceled the tour. He was rude and unprofessional to my husband and knew he never had any intentions of driving back 20 minutes to pick us up. Why was he 20 minutes away at 0955 when we called him, anyway? He was supposed to be at the meeting place by the tender drop point!
To make matters worse, he refused to provide even a partial refund, despite the fact that my husband tried to explain our lack of cellular service because the ship was anchored out and we were present at the agreed meeting place well before the scheduled time!
While I understand that he attempted to contact us earlier that morning, that does not change the fact that he was not at the designated meeting location at the agreed 10:00 AM start time. We were ready and waiting, but the tour never happened.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this tour operator, Alexandre. If you're booking through Viator, be aware that if you're unable to receive messages before your scheduled tour—as can easily happen when arriving by cruise ship which is tendered not docked at the port, you may find yourself without a tour and without a refund if booked with Alexandre!

We are very surprised to read your review since you never actually attended the tour. As confirmed by Viator Support, your booking was officially classified as a "No-Show" due to your failure to arrive at the designated meeting point.
As a premium private service, preparation and communication are key. We actively tried to reach out to you several days in advance—both through the Viator platform and via WhatsApp—specifically to coordinate and plan your arrival at the Saint-Tropez port. We received absolutely no response to any of our messages.
Even on the morning of your arrival, a simple reply from your side—such as "Hello Alexandre, we are on our way" or "We are running late"—would have allowed us to adapt and wait even longer for you. Instead, we were met with total silence on both channels.
Despite this, our professional chauffeur was punctually waiting at the Saint-Tropez port, ready to welcome you with the vehicle prepared. He remained at the dock for as long as possible, but we cannot hold a private vehicle indefinitely without any sign of life.
While we understand your frustration regarding Viator's strict non-refund policy for missed appointments, it is highly unfair to penalize our business and rating for a total lack of communication on your part. We always strive to deliver a 5-star experience to guests who travel with us, and we wish you a safe continuation of your cruise.

Very disappointing the driver took us up high to a spot that my husband who had a walker could not do so obviously, he had to stay at the bottom. And wait, you would think that he would see that we had someone that was disabled and not take us to the highest point I kept asking him that we wanted to go to the port to shop and he said I’ll get you there. I’ll get you there. Then on the way back he wanted to stop someplace else to see another high point and we said no and then he took us to the middle of the downtown and said get out and we said no my husband wants to go to the ship. Can you take himthere and he said no you can walk from here ! it’s very close to the market. It’s a great market just turn right. And 5 minute walk ! Not knowing where we were we told him to take us to the port and my husband would get off and goback to the ship He then gives us directions to go to the market but the market by the time we got there which he said was five minutes away !!it was not five minutes away. It was far and it was closed. So you would think that he would’ve taken us to the market first thing when he picked us up ! That would’ve been a very smart thing to do but no, he insisted that we go to the top to some old castle. When I texted him the night before to ask what the itinerary was he said don’t worry all is good. Well all was not good and we were very very disappointed in what we saw. Yes we saw the landscape and he was very nice to explain it. Another issue was that he brought his son. I’ve never heard of a tour guide taking his son with him. His son sat in the front seat, and therefore we all had to crowd into the back. On any other Viator tour one of the men sat in the front seat, so made it more comfortable for us in the back. I could go on and on, but that’s what I have to say at the moment. I hope that you will reimburse me because I spent thousands of dollars on Viator so looking forward to a credit back to my Visa.

I am truly sorry to hear that the day did not live up to your expectations due to your husband's limited mobility. Our private tours are entirely designed to be comfortable, and while the historic streets and gentle steps of Grimaud and Saint-Tropez are typically accessible to most guests, we completely understand that they can represent a real challenge for someone of his age and condition.
As this was a fully private tour, we have the flexibility to customize every single stop. Had we been informed in advance of your husband's mobility difficulties, I would have gladly adapted the itinerary completely. We could have focused on flat, easily accessible panoramic viewpoints, adapted the pacing, and avoided any stairs or inclines to ensure he had a completely stress-free experience. We always strive to look after our senior guests with the highest level of care. I sincerely hope you both still managed to enjoy the beautiful coastal drives, and we wish you and your husband the very best of health and safety in your future travels.

Driver nice but didn’t provide enough historical info during the tour. He was pleasant . The drive was comfortable ,but didn’t start on time….. almost forty min later than stated on reservation ticket. Didn’t have time to see everything that was planned.

Unfortunately Jeff, in October the weather starts to change and today we had heavy rains that blocked the roads in Saint-Tropez, that's why we had to turn back. Despite that, it was a pleasure to show you as many of the most beautiful places in Saint-Tropez as possible. Take care of yourselves!

Alexandre was an amazing tour guide! From the time of booking, he started communicating with us which made us well prepared for the tour. He was also very accommodating and transported us around with our luggage as we had no place to store it. We got to see some beautiful spots and hidden gems touring with him. Alexandre also went the extra mile to give us a walking tour of St Tropez in the sweltering heat. I would highly recommend his services!

Here’s a little story about our visit to St. Tropez France. We were booked for an excursion through Oceania. Somehow, I got the time we needed to leave mixed up, and we totally missed the excursion! I was so upset, but nothing anybody could do, 😢But after I managed to calm down and stop and pray about it God came through!
Suddenly my mind became clear and I did something I have never done before! I got on my phone and used the Viator app ( I had heard of it and downloaded it to my phone months ago, but didn’t have a clue how to use it)to book a private tour of St. Tropez! I was really anxious about it, because we had never done anything like this before! It took us a little bit to find the meeting point, but after asking people along our way, with their help we found the location! It was The La Ponche Hotel 🏨, I went inside and talked to 3 different people and finally got an answer that assured me this was going to work. The desk clerk assured me that driver would come to the hotel desk if he couldn’t find us, and he would tell him we were waiting where people always wait to meet rides. Anyway, a few minutes later I got a call for Alexndre telling us he would be there in 10 minutes to pick us up, and sure enough he did! He was delightful, and spoke really good English. He gave us a personal tour and told us the history of this lovely place that is his home. He showed us all the sights through a locals eyes. He showed us where Bridget Bardot lives, we were able to see the beautiful blue gate that keeps her secluded. She is now 90 years old. St.Tropez is known as the place on the French Rivera that Bridget Bardot discovered, and she still lives there today. We had a wonderful day! So thankful that it all worked out, and now this is a very special memory!❤️ So thankful for this answered prayer, and the new friend Alexandre that we made in St. Tropez!🙏❤️🙏 God will make a way when there seems to be no way! Thanks be to God, and to Alexandre!🙏❤️🙏 and Viator!

We saw hidden corners of Saint Tropez that tourists usually don´t know. It was exciting to go to the house of Brigitte Bardot and pleasent to eat in a very nice restaurant in Port Grimaud.

We were hoping/expecting to have a walking tour of Saint Tropez to learn about the history of the community. This was a driving tour through Saint Tropez and the surrounding area. The scenery was nice, but the tour lacked Insights.

Hi David , here is the description of what I offer as a service : A private and exclusive visit to Saint-Tropez and its surroundings promises an unforgettable experience, combining luxury, history and breathtaking landscapes.I taught you the whole history of Saint-Tropez, Grimaud, the Var region and the south of France from ancient Greece to our time.
I don't do "walking tour" because as I have told you it's not very useful , there is better to do :)
Walking the streets of Saint-Tropez, as you agreed with me you can do it alone, the best as you have seen and being comfortably seated in the car and going to places that are worth it. And from time to time have free time just for yourself in order to fully enjoy the experience.
You yourself told me that you were just looking for someone to walk the streets of Saint-Tropez and that you couldn't find anyone on the internet and that you booked me at the last minute but in my ad I clearly indicated that my experience is carried out by car with of course moments when walking to explore the most beautiful places in Saint-Tropez and its surroundings.
