What To Expect

One of the world’s foodie hotspots, Singapore is known for a diverse culinary scene that ranges from street-food stalls to high-end gourmet eateries. Its cuisine takes in influences from Malay, Chinese, Indian and British cultures, creating a vibrant food heaven.

Upon arrival at your cooking class with your fellow chefs-in-training, put on an apron and get to work with your experienced instructors. During the step-by-step lesson, learn how to prep and cook three dishes, such as chicken satay or laksa (noodle soup), while your mouth waters from the enticing aroma of spices and seasonings.

When you’re finished cooking, sit down in the dining area to enjoy your creations with your class members in a relaxed, informal atmosphere that will be the cultural highlight of your stay in Singapore.

This was an extremely well organized cooking experience. The 2 women who showed us how to prepare the dishes (and the granny in the kitchen cleaning up) clearly love their job and were very gracious and helpful. I’m actually a public health physician and the hand washing and food prep were carefully done so I felt very safe eating the food. Great experience especially for couples or families working together to make food. Highly recommend.

Y. Y. was our teacher and she was absolutely WONDERFUL. The time flew by because she made the experience so fun! The food was absolutely delicious.

Highly recommend this cooking class. It was very enjoyable.

y. y. was an excellent instructor and presented a fun cooking experience. The Nasi Biryani was something my partner had not tasted before and loved it. As we are now using Singapore as our stop over destination we will be defiantly going back to experience other dishes.

Amazing experience cooking curry chicken

Joey_H, Jan 2026
My son and I signed up for the class because my son loves to cook. Mary was our instructor and she was very knowledgeable. The kitchen/facility was excellent. We enjoyed the fun food quiz at the beginning and learned a lot throughout the class. At the end of the class, we ate the food (Ondeh Ondeh, curry chicken, and roti jala) that we made (it was a lot) and it was delicious! If we had had an extra day in Singapore, we would've taken another class with Mary. We now make the curry chicken at home and everyone enjoys it. Looking forward to next trying to replicate the Ondeh Ondeh at home.

I go to cooking classes where ever I travel. I am so impressed with my experience with YY and Kiat, not only learning to cook a menu of local dishes, but to also learn the culture of these dishes. They were personable and knowledgeable, and I highly recommend this experience!

This cooking class was a lot of fun. We made a lot of great foods. The only thing was our teacher talked a little bit too much about her personal life for a really long time and didn’t get to cooking right away. That would be my only gripe.

Good, could be improved

Ashley_G, Jul 2025
This class was good, but it needs a few tweaks to make it great. Less time at the beginning discussing dishes that the class is NOT making, and more time transitioning between various prep activities would help.

Delicious Food and Good Company

My husband and I love taking cooking classes whenever we visit a new place. This class was a lot of fun and we enjoyed meeting some very interesting fellow travellers. Sara, our teacher, gave very clear and easy to follow instructions. We cannot wait to make our new Singaporean favourites for our friends and family back home.

Well worth it.

Monica was so lovely and helpful throughout the cooking lesson. We learnt about the culture of Singapore food and got to prepare three tasty dishes. It was a great experience and we would do it again next time we are in Singapore.

Must do in SG if food/cooking is your thing

Fernando_H, May 2025
This was a great experience for us. Having thw opportunity to learn from someone who really knows local flavors and recipes was amazing. The class was small (6 people) which helped us connect with each other and participate and clarify as needed. They send you the recipes and the pictures that are taken during the class. I would do it again… with a different recipe :)

Great foodie experience

Excellent experience. A gift for my partner and he highly rated the experience. Everything was great 10/10

Great Singapore Cooking Experience

Andrew_D, Feb 2025
The menu was all demonstrated followed by a hands on reproduction by all class members. Fun & tasty.

A Must Do Activity!

Joanne_C, Feb 2025
Monica was great as a teacher! Loved that we had a small class of just six of us and got a lot of attention/guidance. Enjoyed learning about the history/origins of the foods as well.

Good Experience

Carolyn_K, Feb 2025
Thank you to Monica for a great morning of cooking. It is a shared cooking experience (i.e., not solo cooking stations) however still very interactive and interesting. Monica gave us an entertaining run down on how and where some traditional Singaporean dishes have become favourites. The course is conducted on the 2nd floor of an old (heritage) shop houses which have quite a back history. I highly recommend this cooking course. It’s in a great section of Chinatown where you can explore after you’re done cooking. The Pagoda temple next door (and the beautiful upstairs roof top garden and museum) were very interesting and the busy food hall is always a great visit, although you will be too full from eating to purchase anything. Very close to several MRT train stations.

Fun , informative, tasty event

Steve_K, Jan 2025
The time spent with the team was fun and informative. I enjoyed learning how to make curry paste from scratch and learning about Singapore food culture. To top it off we ate the delicious results.

Eating our way thru Southeast Asia
