Overview

On this full-day tour for nature lovers, cruise through the largest mangrove system in Central America to the richly biodiverse Corcovado National Park. Sail from Sierpe through the Térraba-Sierpe wetlands to reach the park, where a nature guide leads a trek along forested trails. Look for wildlife on the way to the refreshing San Pedrillo waterfall, and recharge with a provided picnic lunch.

Fantastic tour of this unique park. We saw a ton of animals (two types of monkeys, a red macaw, two sloths, tapirs...). Our guide David was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We highly recommend! The one thing to be aware of is it's a long boat ride from Sierpe - be ready for about 1.5 hours each way. But, well worth the trip!

Wonderful day trip to Corcovado- we saw whales on the way and back- and in the park saw a tapir, monkeys, anteater, and other wildlife. The boat's captain Brian, crewman Guillermo, and our guide Oscar were skilled professionals. Oscar was so knowledgeable about the park environment and animal species! PS: I noticed another review mentioning a lack of challenging hiking and adventure- thid is correct, and it was A GOOD THING because this tour isnt about hiking but is about maximizing wildlife sightings and experiencing the most of Corcovado in the very short period of time a day trip can offer.

Not recommended for adventurers

This trip is suitable for people who want to have a comfortable and superficial jungle experience (older people, people with children etc.). Would not recommend this tour to those who want to go deeper into the jungle (with more challenging hikes) and see more wildlife. Half of the hiking we walked with as group of 25 people…no surprise that we did not see much wildlife. However, overall the tour was well organized and the boat ride was nice.

Fun day hike experience

A great way to see a small part of this wonderful park and the mangroves. Our tour guide David was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and fauna in the park and made an effort to ensure everyone got a chance to see the wildlife that was present. It would have been helpful for better organization at the beginning if the guides had a list of people who were signed up for the each tour and a name badge, or identification, since there were multiple tours leaving from the same location.

The itinerary didn't match with what we actually did. We went to Sirena Station instead of San Padrillo. The boat was 2 hours which was quite long but the day was really great! We saw many animals and the walk in the jungle was beautiful. The boat trip back was 2,5 hours. So be aware that you be on the boat for 4,5 hours.

Daytrip to Corcovado from Sierpe, also compared to the trip from Drake Bay to Sirena

We have done the day trip to Corcovado from Sierpe . It was amazing, we have seen so many animals, including a croco and dolphins at the ocean. Our guide explained a lot and was super motivated to show us as much as possible. I have done a similar trip from Drake Bay to Sirena before. For that trip it was necessary to stay in Drake Bay the night before and afterwards. The main difference is that you have a longer boat ride at the ocean and you take another Entrance to Corcovado National Park. Now I can say, especially when you don't have a lot of time, I can definitely recommend the trip from Sierpe to San Pedrillo for a day because it is just one day and I have seen at least the same amount of animals and had also a wonderful experience.

My best friend and her husband and my daughter and I took this day trip from Sierpe to Corcovado and it was a full day of adventure. The weather was absolutely perfect and our tour guide pointed out several animals and was able to help us get great pictures with his monocular scope. I highly recommend it!

Uninspiring

Thought this was going to be the highlight of our trip but it was actually mediocre. We didn't find out until half way around the 3hr hike that the tour we booked was closed due to fallen trees. We aldo didn't know until a couple of days before that plastic water bottles were not allowed in the park although rangers were not very thorough. I would suggest saving your money on this trip and taking a mangrove tour at sierpe which was wonderful

Great trip to Corcovado National Park

Our guide Jose was great at finding animals, we saw squirrel and spider monkeys, sloth, and many birds including a trogon and many macaws plus a crocodile. The boat rides were fun and sometimes exciting, especially going out onto the ocean. I would highly recommend taking a reusable water bottle since hiking in the hot and humid jungle requires lots of water.

Enjoyed day trip form Sierpe to concorvada park. Enjoyed breakfast, then had fun boat ride to park. Saw sloth, monkeys, macaws, bats, and lots of jungle. Awesome and very fun trip. We were led by a nature guide who was great.

A fantastic trip, our guide Carlos was so knowledgeable and friendly, Jose the boat captain did an amazing job, first mate Peter was great, the boat trip alone is worth it, but of course the guided hike in the park is breathtaking. We saw tons of wildlife. Highly recommend this tour!

Remote rain forest experience

During this trip you truly feel isolated and remote. It’s a true rain forest experience. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and go above and beyond to find wild life to show you especially one that you typically would not see in other parts of Costa Rica.

Sortie qui est sympathique sur le papier, dans les faits départ en retard, trajet plus long que prévu, la cascade n'a ni été évoquée ni vue, donc maillot inutile, (par contre prévoir que l'arrivée se fait dans l'eau (jusque mi mollet environ), et ensuite repas a 13h et départ à 14h pour une arrivée à 15h15 à l'embarcadère... donc 1h/1h30 de perdue sur la journée qui aurait pu être faite sur place à voir plus !! Je m'attendais à mieux au vu du prix...
