Our tour guide had great knowledge of the ruins, we were able to tailor-make the tour to suit us. The lunch spot was at a lovely local restaurant in the countryside with a Turkish carpet making showroom attached, the demonstration was amazing to see the work involved in producing the rugs in the traditional way.

What a wonderful time we had in Ephesus! Our Viator guide was just a delight. We we’re picked up in a brand new limo by our driver, and immediately our guide began to orient us to Turkey and what we were going to see that day. Everything we wanted to cover, we did in great detail. First we visited Mary’s house, which was very meaningful to us. Then we headed out to the remains in the city of Ephesus. Wow. The area was enormous, but we felt like we saw it all, and our guide educated us about everything along the way. I can imagine walking through on your own would be overwhelming, but our guide made the fascinating history relatable. After Ephesus, we went to a co-op where local produce was used in a delicious authentic Turkish meal. There we visited a rug making school and learned about the art of making beautiful Turkish rugs. It was a great day and one I will always remember. From now on, if we can use Viator for our cruise ship tours, we will. This was an A+ experience all the way around, and we couldn’t have been more pleased.

Seeing the Library, of course, and the terrace houses. A special treat was meeting the archeologist who was instrumental in excavating the houses. Getting to know our guide, Burac was also a highlight! We highly recommend the personal tour versus the group one from the ship. It was so nice not being rushed!!! Thank you, Burac!!!
