My husband and I love all things paranormal and booked this tour as we’d seen all the reviews and were pleased with them.
It is definitely something worth doing if you love the dark and paranormal history and finding out things that you probably wouldn’t have known. There’s so many stories that you will hear whilst on it and they definitely open your eyes up to what the town would have been like at the time.
I would highly recommend this tour if anyone is thinking about it, the price is amazing for the length of the tour

Very interesting, the black widow was really good. I enjoyed the walk round Scarborough it was a lovely night. Unfortunately the market vaults let it down. The noise from the upstairs function spoilt the feeling of the night and you couldn't hear anything like foot steps. It's a shame really.

With tales of lost souls and those perishing at the hands of devilish individuals, “The Black Widow” tour of Scarborough is highly recommended. Lost of local and historical knowledge brought these ghoulish tales to …..ahem…..life 👻. The tour takes in many locations close to the beach. We have braved many ghost walks around the north of England, and the “Black Widow Tour” is up there with the best. Highly recommended…… if you dare…. 💀

Just a women relating tales of ghosts over and over again standing outside buildings and structures largely in the new town oppose to very old town. Started at beach level then vertically upward to the spa bridge (through Saturday night revellers and karaoke), as this is “the best view of the castle” which she then said can’t be seen as no longer lit up!! Starting at the top of the cliffs and working a way down through the old, atmospheric town would be a vast improvement.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy the tour. It's a dark tales tour, not a paranormal investigation (accept for the halloween special). The route isn’t vertically upwards, there is a steady incline up Eastborough on the winter route, with a sit-down stop half way up, at Merchants Row. The route is designed to include some of the most interesting paranormal and dark history of Scarborough and to finish inside The Grand Hotel. It is also designed to be mobility friendly as going through the oldest part of town can be very steep and guests can find it difficult (up or down). My route and historical dark tales are usually well received. Each story is researched and different from the last. It is a pity the castle isn’t lit up at present, unfortunately there is no spot where you will be able to see it after dark while it is unlit. I believe I said the view from the bridge was the best view over the bay, not specifically of the castle. Many of my guests like to take photos from the bridge, regardless of the castle being lit or not.
Apologies if this is not the type of tour you were expecting.

Great and fun way to get an introduction into the history of Scarborough. Perfect amount of murder to funny dialogue as well as a beautiful stroll throughout the area. Originally we weren’t available on the regularly scheduled tour night but they were very accommodating and let us schedule a different night for our own group. Don’t be afraid to ask. Super communicative via email.

This our first time doing a ghost tour. Me and my boyfriend were in Scarborough on holiday. We were both very impressed with the guide the black widow. This was a long walk (including down a very narrow, steep and dark set of steps) with little content. The stories were v long-winded and not particularly interesting and certainly not scary.
Met some lovely people, hence the 2 stars.
