Being unsure what to expect from a tour such as this, I can thoroughly recommend it. There is a long drive from and to Sarajevo but our guide balanced everything just right from the informed conversation through to the comfort stops we made on the way. The Memorial Centre at Potočari and the nearby cemetery are, of course, harrowing but our guide was able to draw together the history of Yugoslavia and its tragic consequences with the right degree of respect, solemnity and pleasantness to make a very interesting day.

This tour is a well thought out and worthwhile learning day trip from Sarajevo. Our guide and driver Adnan was an expert at providing context and insight to what we were about to see and experience in Srebrenica. The 3 hour drive there was a good opportunity to ask questions. The exhibitions at the memorial are extensive and you won't have time to do them justice, so have a think about which parts you really want to see. An absolute highlight is having a home cooked lunch with a local family and having the time to digest your new knowledge. I recommend everyone to do this tour, all ages and all backgrounds.

Thank you so much for sharing these kind words with us. We’re truly glad to hear that the tour was meaningful for you and that Adnan’s knowledge and guidance helped bring context to such an important visit. The experience in Srebrenica, especially meeting a local family, is something we’re always grateful to share with our guests.
Kind regards,
FT Team

We would highly recommend this tour as our guide was very informative. The visit to the the museum and memorial site was both interesting and moving. We also had lunch with a local family where we were given a very warm welcome, the food was also delicious.

Very impressive tour, I had an amazing guide with whom I could talk very pleasantly during the trip from Sarajevo to Srebrenica. He had a lot of knowledge and was very kind.

Our guide Adnan was very informative and had authoritative answers to all our questions. He was very attentive to our needs and worked hard to make sure that we had a great experience. The trip itself was very emotional but Adnan always worked to make sure that we had full pi ture of what happened.

Thank you to Funky Tours for organizing this experience in Srebrenica. The museum and cemetery are beautiful and moving tributes to the victims of the Bosnian genocide. The lunch with a local family was fantastic, and it was such an honor to be welcomed into their home to share a meal. I learned so much and will never forget my time in Srebrenica. May we forge a more peaceful future together.

Almir from Funky Tours was amazing! He was in the army himself during the war. He was so knowledgeable about the history. I was quite saddened to hear his personal stories; however, I was glad that there's still a lot of positiveness in him. The lunch provided by the local family was delicious. It was nice chatting with the lady who cooked for us as well. Overall, it was a great tour that I would recommend to others.

This has been by far one of the best tours I have taken in my life, and one that I won’t forget. I would recommend anyone who is reading this comment not to even think twice and just go for it: it is an incredibly educational and enriching experience and I won’t thank Funky Tours enough for creating such a powerful tour.

This is a must do tour
In order to understand the past of Bosnia and the current , do this tour .
Almir is fantastic in summing up the background, furthermore, you’ll get to have a tasty Bosnian lunch with the families that where directly impacted

Everything was great - itinerary, transfer, route, organisation. Srebrenica is a haunting place and story so the tour is immensely powerful. What makes such a tour special though? Two things: the guide and the personal dimension. Almir was all one could have asked and more: friendly, extremely knowledgeable, informative, courteous, but also adding a personal dimension to the story that made the whole trip a real experience. The second was the lunch with the local family: not just the great food but the unique opportunity to feel the place and the impact of the 1992-1995 events on real people.
All in all, a must. My only regret is not having more time at the memorial centre to see the exhibit in the detail that it deserves.

Seeing the UN building where thousands huddled in presumed but false security was powerful.
Lunch with a local family of survivors made the experience deeply human. Our guide was himself a survivor, and he was very well informed and passionate on this topic. He also shed some light on the Republic of Sperska.

I strongly recommend this trip. The journey to Srebrenica is through stunning scenery and the guide we had Ado is actually from that town so the details, anecdotes and history he was able to give us added so much to the whole experience. He achieved this without bitterness and with such good humour and courtesy that our day was a good balance of shocking memory and pleasant company. He came to collect us from our hotel too, which was very helpful as we had only just arrived in the city. The museum and cemetery are two places I will never forget. The genocide is an event that is memorialised with dignity and the hope that such horror will never happen again.

The tour was well organized and our guide, Ado, was just perfect. Being a survivor himself he knew about the sad history of Srebrenica and even told us some personal stories.
I higly recommend it.
