The tour was supposed to be just a nice end to our 16-day journey through Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Little did we know it would become the absolute highlight of the entire trip. The nature we witnessed during the circular hike was nothing short of breathtaking, and the experience was further enhanced by the remoteness, peace, and silence — and the absence of any crowds. The stories Kenan shared with us along the trek were enriching and thought-provoking.
We also immensely enjoyed the lunch prepared by the warm and welcoming inhabitants of Lukomir. The women of Lukomir are excellent craftswomen, and we were delighted to support their beautiful tradition by purchasing several locally knitted garments.
We could not recommend this trip enough. We left a big piece of our hearts in Bosnia & Herzegovina and know we will be back. Thank you, Kenan, for making it such a fun and memorable day!

This was one of the highlights from my Bosnia trip. Highly recommend the circular hike - the scenery was amazing, we ate wild blueberries and strawberries along the way, had a delicious lunch and our guide Kamer was very informative - we even got a run down on the history of Bosnian music on the way back. I'd love to come back and do more hikes like this.

I traveled to Lukomir Village with a few friends when we were in Sarajevo for a few days. It was a wonderful addition to our trip as it allowed us to see more of Bosnia and learn about the rich history and culture of the region. The natural beauty is stunning, the food was amazing. I am so grateful for our both our guide and driver for sharing their beautiful culture, personal stories, and country with us!!!

Kenan was amazing and so knowledgeable, he made the experience so fun and interesting! We learnt so much about Bosnia and its history, among many other things. The hike itself was a bit tiring but not too difficult. Would 100% recommend!!! Made our whole trip.

My girlfriend and I did the circle hike and couldn't be happier. Our guide picked us up and dropped us off where we wanted in Sarajevo, taught us lots of history throughout the trip (and shared some incredible stories), and kept us well fed with fruit, snacks, and a big lunch. The hike was easily one of the most beautiful hikes I've done in my entire life. It was challenging (in a good way), but very doable with stunning views the entire way. I can genuinely say our trip to Sarajevo wouldn't have been nearly what it was without booking this trip. We are so glad we did.

Absolutely amazing trip and a must do of staying in Sarajevo.
The views are incredible, wildlife plentiful and the village interesting. Our guide was witty and extremely knowledgable about foraging and local history.
Pick up was smooth and a vegan lunch was organised.

The tour was exceptionally incredible. Every moment of this hike was amazing and the beauty of what Bosnia is. Going to hike to get to Lukomir village and the history behind these outstanding places is one to eagerly see and know. If the mountain and village weren't enough, Kenan was a remarkable guide and individual. Kenan was friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable with everything, from the first moment you meet him to the very last. Coming back to 🇧🇦 soon for sure and will definitely be doing another hike with Highlander Adventures and Kenan!

One of the best tours I've ever had. The guide was EXTREMELY knowledgeable sharing interesting stories and information on everything from Bosnia's history to culture to a plethora of available wild fruits for us to try, even sharing detailed information about Bosnian music on the ride back. It was clear he loves his job. I felt so well informed, I was basically the tour guide for my friends arriving later that week. Thank you!

This was a wonderful hike, and we would highly recommend you book it! We did the out-and-back hike, which came with pick-up/drop-off in Sarajevo, lunch, and the hike itself. Our guide was wonderful, friendly, and very informative. He knew much about the region, the local flora and fauna, and the village's history. Truly, this was a day trip worth every penny, hour, and drop of sweat.

An incredible experience that anyone visiting Bosnia should not miss! The hike offers stunning and diverse scenery, all in one place. Kenan, our guide, is exceptionally knowledgeable about the land and its history. He kept us entertained throughout the hike with his fun spirit, immaculate attention to detail, and extensive knowledge, making an already great hike even better despite the heat wave.
Lukomir village is truly one of a kind, offering a unique experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The people are wholesome, and the food is fantastic.
This hike is a must-do for anyone visiting Sarajevo, and I highly recommend doing it with this tour to get the most authentic Bosnian hiking experience.

The scenary is awesome. We chose the one-way option, which is more expensive, but less demanding and gave us time and opportunity to enjoy the hike and observe the locals.
You definitely need a local guide to lead you the way. The guide Sedin knows the area and the villagers well. He introduced us to a local old couple, we sat down in front of their house and drank coffee they prepared for us.

Absolutely worth it. Really lucky as the weather was nice. Our guide Mirza was fun and professional. He told us a lot of stories about local history and culture on the way to the mountain so the drive was never boring. The hike was not as exhausting as I thought. The view was breathtaking - I could only imagine how wonderful it would be when snowing. I would highly recommend this tour if you are up for a little challenge.

The scenery was incredible throughout the entire trip. The hike to Lukomir was stunning, we even got to go on a detour to see a beautiful waterfall. The food and drink in Lukomir was delicious. The trip back over the peak was hard work but absolutely worth it for the veiws. Our guide taught us a lot of history and folklore from the area as well as showing us all sorts of edible plants, fruits and herbs along the way. Great fun, highly recommended!

We had an incredible time hiking out to Lukomir with Kenan and our group. The rain held out just long enough for us to make it into the village, where we had a fantastic meal. All along the way, our guide shared great stories and history about the area and explained which plants were safe or not safe to eat.
Next time I'm back in the area, I plan to look up Kenan & crew again! Thank you :)

The hike is fun, the views are spectacular, the food is delicious but what makes this experience unique and amazing are the guides. Kenan is professional and personable and has a way of sharing the story of Bosnia, local legends, and knowledge of the mountains that makes you want to return and see more of this beautiful country.
