Inefficient and costly for only 2.5 hours of winery time

This was a very inefficient tour managed by a large tourism company in Chile (Turistik). Of the 6 hours that we were on the tour, we were traveling for 3.5 hours and only spent 2.5 hours at the vineyard. Our group arrived at the meeting point at 8am but didn't leave until 8:20am. We were then taken to another meeting point in the opposite direction of the winery where we had to change buses to go to the vineyard. For reference, the vineyard is only 50 mins away from the original meeting point. At the vineyard, we did an almost 2 hour tour of the garden and about a half hour for the tasting. We were then rushed to the gift store before being ushered back to the bus. As a pro, we were happy with the guide at the vinery and the seeing the garden was a unique vineyard experience. We were excited to visit the museum at the winery (the admission cost is included in what we paid) but there was no time to see it. For the price and lack of vineyard time, the tour is definitely not worth it. Recommend find local guides instead of going with this large tour group.

The tour was way nicer than I expected. The group was small (maybe 12 persons) and the guide was great. I would recommend this for anybody that wants to get out of Santiago for half a day, the garden around the vineyard is gorgeous

A bit disappointing

This was a nice tour of the private park. But we saw no vineyards really. And we only saw historic cellars and not active places where the wine was made. The staff was very nice but this isn’t what I expected for a winery tour.

Highly reccomend this tour. The only problem was it was a mixed language tour. The English version was a bit shorter, and not all of the Spanish speaking guests respected our time. It was hard to hear the guide in English due to the chatter of the other guests.

Excellent tour. The winery is really beautiful and charming. Ours guides both in the bus tour and at the winery were great. There is a tasting at the end of the tour and the prices at the local store are very attractive.

Pickup and transfer going out ok. Good, safe driver. Tour was basically good, although it got a little boring hearing about all the praying done to saints, especially since none of the prayers ever seem to have gotten answered. Sometimes the logistics were a bit chaotic or uninformative. The transfer back though was hell - we were taken off of one bus, and put into a small van for return to the hotel. The van sat there for 20 min in the 30 degree heat with some fan on, but still uncomfortable because they couldn't figure out the plans. We were then told we had to get out and wait for another van, and no idea when it was coming. Some walked back to hotels, we took a cab because the two of us were carrying 7 bottles of wine plus other purchases. Don't want to use this service again.

Really good visit! I recommended it. The grounds of Santa Rita Winery are beautiful and learning about the various aspects of the wine making process was very interesting and well explained. The rule of the 5 applied here as well, since in our group of about 20 people there was this annoying person from Spain who was trying to compete with the guides, showing off his knowledge about wines during the wine tasting. In such a large group you can almost count with one jerk. The other thing that I did not like, was the time wasted at the beginning. A very nice bus picked us at 8:30am, full of other tourists going to various VIATOR tours. The bus took us to a central meeting place where people switched to other buses going to various tours. We actually left for the winery one hour later. I was under the impression that I was going to be taken in a private tour, immediately after leaving our hotel, which was not the case.

I booked this tour based on prior reviews and it was everything that was promised. The winery was beautiful and our winery tour guide spent about 1 1/2 hours with us showing us around and explaining everything at the winery. Our bus guide was also informative on the trip to and from the winery. This tour was great value.

Best winery tour ever. Gorgeous historical house and grounds, great guide with very good English, excellent lunch in property Café. I wish we had more time to have lunch in the actual restaurant, the menu looked divine. Very nice store as well. The Unesco Heritage Cellar: Wonderful.

There was another group doing tastings who had gotten cheese, crackers, etc. We didn't even get different glasses when we switched from white to red wine, we didn't get any water to clean our pallets. The wine was good and we got a souvenir glass. The grounds were also quite pretty.

Splendid. This is no ordinary winery. Huge, hi-tech, historical, educational... The guide was knowledgable and well-spoke in English and Spanish. The wine-tasting was educational as well. This is a beautiful place only 30 minutes from town center. It even includes a museum and a great little restaurant with great-tasting traditional fare.

The local trip provider was accessible, the pickup was timely, the guides were engaged and spoke excellent English, and the tour itself was thorough and fun. The winery tour was perfect. The bus picked us up at our hotel. The group that went on the tour was a very acceptable size. The winery was beautiful. The guide ( I forgot his name) spoke english very well. The tour was half in spanish and half in english, but the way it was done felt very organic. The overall tour was wonderfully arranged. I will definitly recommend this to anyone who comes down to Santiago.

A really enjoyable the trip, it was impeccably organised. A beautifully presented vineyard, with a great tour and a wonderful guide. I couldn’t fault it. My only disappointment is that I couldn’t buy crates of wine and ship them oversees.
