Not much time at Temple
I booked this tour to the B'hai temple & winery as it was the only tour of the temple I could find. It included transportation from a location very close to the hotel I was staying at. We boarded the Turistik bus at 1:15 & after picking up others we arrived at the temple parking lot at 2:45. So we rode on the bus for 1 hour & 30 minutes. Ridiculous! We were given just 30 minutes to walk up to the visitors center, receive a short briefing from a volunteer & then walk up many, many stairs to reach the temple. If you have issues with climbing stairs or have mobility issues, you should reconsider taking this tour. Walking on the scenic path was an option, but once we left the visitors center we had 15 minutes left before we had to be back at the bus to go to the winery. I was disappointed as a visit to this temple was the reason I booked this tour. We had no time to enter the temple, meditate or just enjoy the space, just enough time to snap a few photos outside (no photos permitted inside) & get back to the bus. Then unfortunately we had to wait for the rest of the group who returned late. This delayed our departure for the 4pm winery tour. Once again we had to walk a long distance to get to the visitors center from where we were dropped off, some of it over cobblestones. The English tour had already started when we joined. The tour leader mentioned at the start of the day we should be finished at 5:30. I waited by the bus until 5:56pm before the guide & rest of the group arrived. The guide, Fernanda was really great. She gave us lots of information on both places & her English was excellent. She was very enthusiastic about this tour & it showed. I recommend starting the tour at least 1 hour earlier to permit more time at the temple. Otherwise, I would recommend taking public transport or an Uber if your main purpose is to see the temple.

Excellent & safe English tour provided
Excellent tour provided by Eugene, who was a friendly and accommodating tour provider who spoke very good English and was very informative about Chilean culture.
We also were provided a great tour by the Cousino Maxik Vineyard tour guide Dani, who also spoke fluent English and was able to provide a very concise history on the vineyards background

Loved it
Seeing the old cellar felt like going back in time. Our guide at the vineyard (Tiago) spoke excellent English, and he was very kind and knowledgeable.
The communication for hotel pickup was perfect and Eugene was right on time.

A day well spent
Professional guides, Eugene for the tour and Daniella at the winery, made this a great day. Eugene was prompt, organized and friendly. He made certain that everything was to our liking and he was flexible with our time. His passion and knowledge of the area is impressive.
The winery is exceptionally beautiful and fascinating. Daniella is a charming and humorous host, and kept the group engaged and informed in the best way. I couldn't resist purchasing a couple of bottles of their excellent wine. Even their caps are classy, so I bought one as well.
I highly recommend this tour, and hopefully you will be able to enjoy the fine and fun customer service by Eugene and Daniella.

Excellent Tour!!
Our guide did an amazing job swapping between English, Spanish, and Portuguese! There was a decent sized group of us and we all were answered whenever we had questions/concerns.
The experience at both the temple and the vineyard was amazing! I had not heard of the Baha'i faith before this and hearing about them and seeing the temple was a great experience. In the bookshop I actually met one of the authors who took time to tell us his story and how he came to Chile.
Going for wine after the temple was a good end of a tour. We tried several wines and heard the history of the vineyard as well as the process for how to make wine which I appreciated as someone who has been on vineyard tours in the past. My only criticism would be the free wine glasses. GREAT idea, not so great in execution. Those aren't exactly easy to pack. Mine broke on my flight even though I kept it in the bag and didn't put it in anything else. It was just too fragile :(

Interesting, educational and fun!
Two completely different experiences joined to make a very memorable day.
The minibus was comfortable and our guide made us welcome and included as she moved effortlessly from Spanish to English
The Baha’i Temple was a peaceful thought invoking experience. An unusual construction in an amazing setting surrounded by nature and carefully designed water features.
This was followed by the visit to the Cousino Macal vineyard a perfect combination. Our guide there spoke perfect English and made the experience educational, interesting and fun. The wine tasting was generous and enjoyable and the whole tour fascinating.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience,
10 out of 10 !👏

When to visit

Cousino Macul is a must-visit for wine fans or people who want the winery experience but are short on time.
Many of the winery's tours are only in Spanish, so book a tour from Santiago with an English-speaking guide if your Spanish isn't great.
Souvenir wine glasses are included on most tours.
While parts of the winery are wheelchair-accessible, the cellars are not.
