We loved our Maipo Valley tour. Our tour guide Esme and driver Matias were wonderful. They were kind, informative and very nice. We enjoyed learning about Chilean wine and visiting the different wineries. It was nice to try the different wines and pisco. We had such a great experience and this was such a memorable experience. Would definitely recommend for everyone to do this tour.

Great day to the vineyards in the Maipo Valley

Marek_S, Mar 2026
Esme was the guide and Gaudi the driver. Great comms the night before on Whatsapp with estimated arrival at my hotel. Long wheel based van totally full of passengers. As I was the last on the pickup list I had to sit at the back of the van. Highly uncomfortable with no where to put my legs. Plus no audio and could not hear any of the commentar from Esme. Trip marked down for these. Esme was a great guide andcspoke perfect English. We travelled to wineries from small boutique to large industrial and had an awesome lunch at the 3rd winery but no wine tasting and paid for lunch ourselves. Really lovely day, but the transport is an issue. Too many people in the van. But i would recommend this trip.

Very pleasant day!

Fred_D, Mar 2026
Well-paced visit to three wineries and a restaurant (lunch). The tour guide, Francisca, made the ride out and back from Santiago to the winery region interesting and informative. Travel was via a new, clean - the deliver Mateo, did his job professionally. Winery tours (3) each covered a limited aspect of their operations - without much redundancy. Wines sampled and restaurant were all good. Overall, a very pleasant day.

Different side of Chile

Nancy_H, Mar 2026
It provided a unique side of Chile. The tour guide was amazing- she remembered everyone's name and she introduced everyone so you felt comfortable. The vineyards you go to are local and dont export a ton- great experience from start to finish.

Fantastic experience close to Santiago! I recently relocated to Chile so this was a great way to get out of the city and learn about one of the local wine regions. Panchi was a great tour guide, funny and knowledgeable and well organized. Our driver David was friendly and got us from A to B safely and quickly. Each stop was unique and you learned about different wine productions at each. While the majority of the group were couples and friends, I would recommend for solo travelers. There were two in my van plus the group itself was friendly and excited to talk about their travels in Chile!

Highly recommend this experience with Esme and Matthias! It was such a fun activity, and I'm happy I did this compared with other common tours in Santiago as it allowed us to stay outside at four different wineries, enjoy the scenery, food, and company. I'm not a wine expert but I felt that I would still do this over again for the social aspect as a solo traveler, and I got to learn some stuff about the region too!

Dale_A, Mar 2026
The tour consisted of going to 3 wineries for tastings, and lunch only (cost not included) at another winery. The driver picked us up on time and the van was comfortable. Our guide, Panchi, was very nice, answered our questions, and kept us informed of the day's activities along the way. The wine tours at the 3 wineries were interesting with background on their wine history and processes. However, the wines we tasted were just average to sub-par and none were good enough to purchase.

Great Time!

Brandi_T, Mar 2026
Great time in Maipo Valley! Our guide Joaquin was super attentive and accommodating. Our driver JC was also fantastic and very friendly. Great wine tour and solid selections of wineries that were a mix of small family owned and larger mass producers. Highly recommend for a fun day outside Santiago city!

3 wineries, good intro, wanted less talking

Amy_H, Mar 2026
We visited three wineries total so I don’t think the title should say “4 wineries”. Lunch location was a separate winery/vineyard. Lunch was incredible (you pay on your own) and delicious. You can purchase more wine there. All three places gave us a tour of the property and winemaking process which we felt like we didn’t necessarily need. A full tour of one place is sufficient for me and let the others simply tell us about their winery and what makes them different or provide a short walk through but we felt like 3 overviews at all three places was a lot. We enjoyed the tour overall- our tour guide (Pablo) was very friendly and took the time to get to know each traveler in the group as the day went on so you felt like you got some personal recommendations from him which I really appreciated. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I appreciated pickup from our hotel and the convenience of everything planned out with transportation is so valuable. Glad we did it but wished we maybe visited 4 wineries with less time or more wine at the three stops. Good value for the time spent.

Maipo Valley wine tour

Rick_K, Mar 2026
When I signed up for this tour, I was somewhat hesitant because there was the possibility of having up to 16 participants, which is not what I wanted to do. I ended up going the tour with 11 people and we were joined by another group at the wineries that included 16 people. Although we ate lunch separately, the wine tastings were with both groups combined. I typically like smaller intimate groups focused on the wine, but this was fun based on all the people from different parts of the world. It was curated very well with different types of winery experiences and property tours at each. Our guide Sophia Margarita was passionate and informative on all thing Chile. If you are looking for a fun experience, this is a good option.

The Maipo Valley doesn't disappoint

Kenton_B, Mar 2026
Sofia was the best and kept us informed about the Maipo Valley. She took us to a very cool and scenic viewpoint over the valley 1st, before proceeding to our first winery. The first two wineries were very small, and the one, La Quirinca at the moment is not harvesting their own grapes, as the fields were replanted. But they do a nice job with samples and a charcuterie dish to enjoy while sipping on some vino. Plus they spoiled us by offering a variety of PISCO flavors which were outstanding, especially the FIRE has to be tried. The first winery, Vina Ballek Potopelao was very cool and the owners are great and very interesting. The wines were a bit young, but a little more aging will help. The last winery was more like a Napa or Sonoma type winery, large and professionally run. It was called Vina Undurraga and it was amazing. A beautiful property with an excellent Carmenere wine. Great tour of the facilities and a great example of a large winery compared to the two smaller ones. My only suggestion, would be to eliminate one of the smaller wineries and go with something that is more in the medium size with a solid tour of the operation. Also the lunch was great with a very nice menu. The main disappointment, was the tour said we were doing (4) wineries, and is actually is just (3).

Fun and easy way to explore Maipo Valley!

Anne_S, Mar 2026
Fun day exploring Maipo valley and learning about their wine industry. Hotel pickup and drop off was helpful. Panchi and CJ the driver were lovely! Fun time exploring La Quirinca…esp with the farm animals and pisco tasting! Santa Ema had the best sommelier I’ve ever met…great energy and explanations!! Lunch at TerraMater was delicious! The tour at Underraga dragged a bit likely because it is the last stop and we spent lots of time in the vineyard when it was hot and sunny (and the tasting would better if in a seated area). Overall great day…glad we went!! Wine was wonderful!!

Lovely day visiting three very different wineries and stopping for excellent lunch at a 4th. Panchi (our tour guide) and driver Isaac were great. Panchi was very knowledgeable about the Maipo Valley and also made sure everyone had a good time. It was a great day!

An Unforgettable Wine Tour in the Maipo Valley – Truly Exceptional

jcmmorehead, Mar 2026
This wine tour was easily one of the best experiences of our entire trip to Chile. If Viator allowed it, we would give it 15 out of 10. From the moment we were picked up in the morning until we were dropped off in the evening, everything was seamless, professional, and incredibly well organized. Our guide Panchi and our driver Isaac were absolutely fantastic. They made sure we were comfortable, informed, and taken care of throughout the entire day. Panchi in particular was extraordinary. She kept the day running smoothly while also making sure we understood what was happening at each stop, what was included, and what our options were. She checked in frequently to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and helped create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for the entire group. Over the course of the day we visited four wonderful wineries in the Maipo Valley, each offering something unique: • La Quinquira – An intimate and charming winery where our host Mateo led a fantastic tasting and shared the story behind the wines. The setting was beautiful, and even meeting the baby alpaca and llama on the property made the experience unforgettable. • Santa Ema – A more formal tasting led by an outstanding sommelier, Christian, who guided us through the aromas and flavor notes of several excellent wines while sharing deeper insight into Chilean winemaking. • Zinfandel Winery & Restaurant – A perfect midday stop for lunch with beautiful alfresco dining. The tomahawk steak, traditional Chilean salads, and wine pairing were fantastic, and it was a wonderful chance to connect with travelers from all over the world. • Undurraga – The largest winery we visited, with an impressive modern facility, vineyards, cellar tour, and a tasting of six wines that rounded out the day. What truly elevated this tour, however, was Panchi and Isaac. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made the entire experience feel effortless and special. You could tell they genuinely cared that everyone had a great time. If you are visiting Santiago and want to experience the Maipo Valley wine region, this tour is an absolute must. Highly recommended. Truly an unforgettable day.

We had an amazing time on our wine tour with Sofia and Beta! Sofia answered all of our (many!) questions and was super communicative. I would recommend to anyone looking for a day trip wine tour from Santiago! We also got to try some of the best wine that Chile has to offer (which I would say is some of the best wine in the world)

Fun in the sun

Nathan_H, Mar 2026
Isaac and Pablo were amazing. Pablo was quirky, fun and knowledgeable and most of all engaging. It's always hard to bring people from so many countries together to interact in a positive way but he was upbeat and had a great attitude. Additionally he shared many recommendations and was excited to showcase his county and culture. The tour was fun, informative and the wineries depicted Chilean culture and history. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Not what we expected......

CHRISTINE_H, Feb 2026
Booked a Wine Tour with my wife. What we thought we'd booked was a Tour of 4 vineyards with proper tastings etc. and lunch with pick up from our hotel in Santiago. What we got was: Pick up from the hotel - the Guide was not with the bus and we only picked her up, very late, on the way out of Santiago. A semi tour of 1 vineyard with tasting (no real explanation of processes), another vineyard with a bit of a tour and look at various animals (llamas etc), a lunch stop (apparently it was at a vineyard but we saw no evidence..) and then a final stop at a proper vineyard with a bit of a Tour and tasting. The Tour was supposed to be limited to a maximum of 15 English speaking people: instead we joined another bus and there were about 25 English speakers and 2 Spanish speakers. All the while the guide was just saying "Let's keep drinking" "drink more.." " have fun" and words to that effect. The Tour had a number of younger tourists (including several Australians) who seemed to enjoy it and drink more and more, but it was NOT what we expected or paid for. Drop off back at our hotel was fine. All in all, very disappointing and NOT what we really wanted....

Response from Host, Mar 2026

We are sorry about the experience we will look into it.

Chilean Wine Experience

RobertProwant, Feb 2026
Longer day, as advertised. We traveled in a van with 16 passengers which was the full capacity of the van. Pablo and our driver (DJ Jose) were excellent hosts and guides. We made a convenience stop during the first leg of the trip. Our first winery was a small family vineyard with each subsequent winery being larger. Lunch is on your own and was at a nice restaurant with a large menu. While the scenery and wines were excellent, our fellow passengers were great. All world travelers so you immediately have something in common. Highly recommend this tour if you have a full day.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Exceeded my expectations

Carol_Y, Feb 2026
I have a spare day and didnt know what to do so booked this tour. I learnt more about organic wine than I ever knew before. Panchi and Mati were our excellent guide and driver. Lunch was stunning and coffee was a welcome addition at the first stop. So was Mary the guide there. I cant fault it at all. I work in the travel industry and there guys really nailed this experience. PS lunch and coffee not included but very well worth the small amount it cost.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

A great way to spend your spare day. Thank you for your review.

Can’t miss this tour.

They are in for a treat if their Guide is Paulina teamed up with Oscar (Driver). They both are the best in their area of expertise. Paulina is very versed in the history of Chile and the Wineries you will visit. Oscar is a very personable individual. Always with a smile and most important a safe and great driver.

Probably not worth your time

Christine_M, Feb 2026
First, I want to say that Pauli was an amazing guide. She’s super friendly and took good care of us as we went to the various wineries. But I would say the tour was overall a disappointment. The first winery was fun because there were llamas there. But the winery actually doesn’t produce wine on premises so to me that was not interesting. The second winery was more traditional. But I didn’t find any of their wines very tasty. Frankly, most of these Chilean wines were kind of blah. I’ve wine tasted in California, Oregon, Washington, New Zealand and many other countries. The Chilean wines we tasted were inexpensive, but not comparable to the same wine varietals I’ve tasted in other countries and California. The last winery on the tour was beautiful. Winery employee Fernanda was an excellent guide and showed us the beautiful property, and her explanation of wine making was one of the best I’ve ever heard. She let us taste the fully ripe grapes from the vines. Again, however, the wines we tasted were not exceptional. This was also the first wine tasting I’ve ever been on where I had to pay for my lunch, and the restaurant was mediocre and pricey. I would’ve preferred to have charcuterie served with each tasting and paired with the appropriate wines we were trying. I believe there were probably better wineries in the Santiago area with higher quality wines that we could have visited. With proper research you can probably figure this out yourself and hire a driver.

Much more than just a wine tasting. Well worth it!

Jay_A, Feb 2026
Well worth it. Each vinyard and experience was different. The dogs that greet you are wonderful. The animals at the first tasting were a highlight and the wines and tasting experiences at each stop were excellent. Furthermore, each presenter was absolutely terrific; well versed in their subject matter, charming, entertaining and helpful. A highlight was the tour leader Francisca who is about as knowledgeable, lively and enjoyable as anyone you will ever meet. I might add that the lunch stop at an Italian restaurant was one of the best meals we have had in Chile.

Worthwhile and good value

Mary_W, Feb 2026
Good wineries although I liked the first one best, La Quirinca. The lunch stop was ok, but everyone else liked their food.
