Overview
The Kyzylkum Desert is home to ancient ruins dating back to Alexander the Great, shimmering Aydarkul (a massive lake), and yurt camps—but with little by way of infrastructure, navigating this remote part of Uzbekistan takes serious planning, and your own transportation. Leave the logistics to someone else on this private, overnight trip, which includes meals, a camel ride, traditional musical performances, and yurt accommodation.
- Get off the beaten track and explore parts of Uzbekistan most travelers never see
- Tours take you between Samarkand and Bukhara—with pickup and drop-off in either direction
- Opt between your choice of a shared yurt accommodation, or your own private yurt
- Comfortable, chauffeured minibus travel means no stressing over taxis or buses

Everything went according to plan. The driver was on time, very nice and helpful. The stop and lunch at the lake was a great feature: the swimming most pleasant. Everything was well organized at the Yurt camp with beautiful views under the moon. All the stops were interesting, except maybe the caravanserail. We highly recommend all the rest.

Dear Isabelle,
Thank you very much for your wonderful review and recommendation. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the journey from Samarkand to Bukhara, the stop at Aydarkul Lake, and the unique experience of spending a night in a yurt camp under the stars. It is also great to know that our driver helped make your trip comfortable and enjoyable. We truly appreciate your kind feedback and hope to welcome you back to Uzbekistan for more memorable adventures in the future.
Best regards,
TravelBliss Team

The driver will be there for two days, like the person in charge of the tour. He gives a quick guide to stops such as Lake Idacle. I booked a group yurta (about 30,000 yen per person at the time), but I never shared a car or yurta with anyone else, and there were only other tour-goers at the campsite, so it was effectively a private yurta (it might depend on the time of year and booking). The interior of the yurtas was clean, but not cool, as there was only a fan. The shower and toilet were outside the yurtas, with only two rooms each, but there was little waiting in line.
Hasan is very personable and I'm glad to have been around him. We had lunch together at Lake Idacle. He was a person with a reasonable distance and I felt very comfortable. If you bring your stuff, or pass us at the campsite, we say, "Everything ok?"He cared about me. At the Lake Idacle lunch, a man at the next table got involved, but he sent us away gentlemanly instead of us (two women). I could tell they were working hard to make this tour good for us.

Thank you very much for your detailed review and for your kind words about Hasan. We are truly delighted to hear that his care, professionalism, and kindness made your journey enjoyable and comfortable. We will be sure to share your appreciation with him.
At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the unpleasant incident you experienced during lunch at Aydarkul Lake. As soon as Hasan informed us about what happened, we immediately began taking the necessary steps to address the situation. We are working with the relevant parties to ensure appropriate action is taken so that none of our future guests will ever face a similar experience.
Your safety and comfort are always our highest priorities, and we deeply regret that this occurred. Thank you again for bringing it to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Uzbekistan under even better circumstances.
