Well organised tour. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery on the drive from Samarkand to Shahrisabz. My driver and guide were very nice and helpful. I would have liked to have spent more time in the new part of the city.

Hassan, the driver, really made the experience worthwhile. He speaks good English and enjoyed talking during the ride. On the way there, we stopped at three points: two for views and one roadside bazaar. The actual visit to the town was a bit lackluster. None of the entry fees are included, as stated in the itinerary, but they really should be included for the price paid. The tour guide was nice and flexible, allowing me to shop and visit as many stores as I wanted, but I can’t say that I learned as much as I wanted. The price of the tour for a solo person does not match the experience. Thank goodness that I enjoyed the drive with Hassan, and I am happy to have seen the town - but it is a bit too expensive for a solo traveler.

A driver picked us up at our hotel in Samarkand on time. It was a 2 hour drive from Samarkand to Shahrisabz and we stopped on our way 2-3 times at scenic views to take pictures of the beautiful scenic views and at a local market with delicious dry fruits, nuts and candy. After we arrived in Shahrisabz, we met with a local guide who showed us all around the old city with great explanations. Both the driver and the guide were very nice and attentive.

Overall a nice day trip from Samarkand. Our driver Yusuf was very nice and safe, could speak some workable English, and let us stop for photo ops, toilet breaks, and a delicious restaurant for mountain sheep. Shahrisabz is a quaint town with some sights similar to Samarkand. The tour took about 2-3 hours. If you have an extra day in Samarkand, it’s overall worth it. Many thanks Yusuf and Johangir!

The trip was nice overall. Very beautiful and informative.
The only minus was that our driver did not speak English at all. Even though, teoretically he should.
I think that our driver had an issue and he sent his brother. A very nice person, but the communication was a bit hard.
