Our group was disappointed with the tour and guide interaction was contentious. Being totally unfamiliar with Rouen, we looked forward to a well-orchestrated tour with historical information, and this tour did not meet our expectations. We could not answer, “What do you want to see or where do you want to go?” We asked about the age of historic buildings, and the vague answer “Gothic period” was not sufficient. I feel we overpaid with little-quality delivery. Comparatively speaking, we did a similar tour in London last week, which was spectacular. We do not recommend this tour and feel we were far over charged for what was delivered.

Awesome walking tour

We did a private walking tour with Ludovic in Rouen. It was simply superb. He had clearly prepared, practiced and polished his presentation which was very clear, informative and entertaining. This was the best walking tour we have ever taken, and we have been on some excellent ones. He even recommended a delicious, non-touristy restaurant near the Cathedral of Notre Dame--Brasserie Paul. We could not recommend him more highly.

Marc was a superb guide! He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, communicative, and attentive. He clearly enjoys being a guide. His English is excellent. He is incredibly knowledgeable regarding his native Rouen. Marc is a student of history, architecture, and arts, and therefore could answer all our questions. Sorely disappointed

The description of the tour included a “professional guide”. There was nothing professional or knowledgeable about our guide. To start, she was horribly disorganized. Asked us to meet her in front of the Cathedral where she would be waiting wearing a white cap. We waited and waited and finally called her and she explained that we were in the wrong place. We walked around several blocks and 15 minutes later found ourselves back at the same starting place where she walks up to us in a RED cap and then laughed it off telling us she was “off”. Then to start the tour, she asks us what we want to know and do we have any questions? How can we have questions when the walking tour has not even begun? She knew very little about the cathedral, kept forgetting things (again saying she was “off” because she had only just returned from a long holiday). We were so sorry to have had such a less than mediocre experience. Such a waste of money, but mostly a waste of what might have otherwise been a lovely afternoon in Rouen on our own.

Both entertaining and interresting. A beautiful city with a lot of history. Joan of Arch has been a heroine in my mind for many years and to visit the place where she lost her life is unforgettable.
