This was a lovely wine tour! We were driven to Kinross, Gibbston, and Mt Rosa and enjoyed delicious tastings at each. The experience offered a good sampling of the region’s wines, and the locals were very knowledgeable. Mt Rosa also offered a great cheese board. Enjoyed the tour and would recommend!

Awesome driver who provided great intel prior to each visit and just around good bugger. Each of the wineries provided fantastic service but Mt Rosa topped it off.

Lindsay the driver was great. Bailey at Kinrosss very knowledgeable and interesting and served fantastic wine . The Gibbston ‘cave tour’ was not a tour and very short. You just walk in the wine cellar they blasted out with with dynamite. The server at Mt Rosa winery was friendly and engaging.

The Gibbston Valley Cave Tour guides you through their organically managed Home Block vineyard, home to some of the region's first vines. Then, into the wine cave to taste wines. The tour takes around 30 minutes total. We appreciate that a man made cave may not be what some people imagined prior to arriving in Otago.
Overall it sounds like you had a great day and we hope to welcome you back in the future to taste wines in some of the other sub-regions.

John is an amazing guide! His knowledge (and humour of course) made the day. We were an international group and he made everybody feels comfortable and cozy right away. The staff at the wineries are great too.

Beautiful wineries and not too far from Queenstown. Didn't like most of the wines (especially in the first boutique winery) most are too acidic or too young. Tour itself is fun and a great relaxing activity for the afternoon.

Your first stop does pour wines from several different winemakers, which is designed to give guests a broad introduction to the region, though we completely understand that not every style will suit every palate. On a private tour we’re also able to tailor the winery visits more closely to individual tastes.

The three wineries that we visited were great - everyone so nice and knowledgeable about the region and the wine. However, we loved one of the wineries and wanted to buy some to bring home, but our tour guide Jimmy was rushing us and almost shaming us for wanting to purchase so that made an impact on the rest of our experience. He also was upset with us at the beginning because we weren’t on time when the Viator booking said to be ready at 1:30 (we were downstairs at 1:20). Others in the group received a message for their pickup time, but we did not receive anything. Overall, great winery visits but not the best transportation and tour company.

Great intro to New Zealand wineries. Visited 3 locations with cheese board at the 3rd winery. Our favorite was the wine cave with the plus of excellent terms for shipping wine to the US at reasonable cost. Probably would have like the cheese board at the second winery. Also, ability to choose which wines you want to taste would be a plus. We had 11 folks total but 6-8 would be ideal and more intimate.

Kinross was the best of the three - nice
Mix of wines. The wine cave at Gibbston was cool but they combined us with another group and it was just too big to enjoy. The final wine tasting with a cheese board at Mt Rosa was good because we were hungry but the wines were unremarkable.

This was an amazing experience, we went to 3 outstanding wineries and got to taste a good variety of wines. Our guide Kate was very friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. Everything was well orchestrated and easy!

What a wonderful day it was. My 2 dear friends and I were lucky enough to have the tour to ourselves. Alan our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable and lots of fun, even carried our purchases to the bus. The wineries were fantastic, so many great wines, if only we could’ve bought more back to Melbourne. A “must do” when in Queenstown. Thank you Alan & Appellation Wine Tour. We will be back.

This wine tasting tour was absolute perfection! We stopped at three neighboring wineries all with distinct flavors from the region. The group was small and the van was comfortable, making the tour even more personalized. John was informative and witty about the wine country and its history as he drove. The trip ended on a high note, especially since all pours were consumed! I cannot thank enough our guide, John, and the company for how overwhelmingly accommodating they were to me! I am so appreciative of their hospitality on my first day in Queenstown and in New Zealand. Highly recommend this tour! Cheers!

A beautiful scenic trip to Gibbston’s wineries. My only suggestion - could the cheese platter (which was very nice) please be served midway as opposed to being served at the final winery. Our driver’s name was Ted, he was a legend! A bright, happy guy and very knowledgeable of the sights along the way. All in all a very pleasant tour!

What a fun tour! We got to go into a wine cave for one of the tastings and that was pretty awesome. We did this tour on Christmas Eve and the best surprise was the last wine vineyard, our sommelier looked like Santa:)

The tour was amazing! The tour guide was Pleasant from the moment when we boarded the bus to the very end. The wineries we visited were picture perfect they had an array of tasty wines to visit as well as beautiful grounds to compliment the overall ambience of the vineyards. Our guide, Craig, was fantastic! He was personable, relaxed, funny, totally natural, and didn't pressure anyone to be more socially involved with the group than they were comfortable with. Everyone in our group got to know each other at their own pace, and there's no better buffer for that than wine and cheese! A very relaxing, go-at-your-own-pace style of trip that definitely got your money's and time's worth without trying to squeeze too much in.
The wine and cheese was perfectly done as well, with each stop having friendly hosts and beautiful tasting platters. Couldn't fault any of it!

Nice tour of 3 Gibson Valley wineries. Enjoyed 13 tastings at the 3 wineries. Tasting in the cave was a bonus. Our tour guide Al, was very knowledgeable and informative.
