First, our tour guide, Ana, was the best. She went above and beyond in every respect. She even personally cooked our masarap lunch. I wish more tour guides were like her. She took personal pride in representing her beautiful country.
The tour was great too! We were never rushed and got to see everything we wanted. We ended up coming home a little earlier than scheduled because we had seen all we wanted to see. We never needed to wait for anything. When we were ready go to the next spot, Ana and the boatmen were ready.

They do what they say.
Picked up outside the small port with driver and tour guide who stays with you through the day.
Islands are great with plenty of swimming and snorkelling. Starfish island is best and Luli island ok for fish watching. Cowrie island waste of time for snorkelling but nice beach.

Tour guide was waiting for us as we disembarked. Took us straight to the taxi, and once at Honda Bay we hired snorkeling equipment. Tour details said it would be a boat trip to Honda Bay but taxi was fine.
The boat was ready to take us to Starfish Island and Cowrie Island. We swapped a visit to an island for a stop off on a reef station to view the coral.
We were a bit apprehensive about using an external tour operator rather than a cruise ship excursion but all was fine. Longer time and better value. Lunch provided was tasty.
I would add that getting off the boats was a bit tricky, although the lads on board were there to give a hand.

We visited Puerta Princesa by cruiship and decided to book a private Honda Bay Island hopping tour. Though the weather was not at it's best we had a wonderful day with our tourguides. They picked us from the cruise port on time and took us by outtrigger boat to 3 most beautiful islands with some nice snorkeling spots. We also enjoyed our buffet lunch, which was very good and plentiful. So despite the rainy weather we enjoyed the tour

I never did the private island tour. I asked the tour guide to change it since felt it should have been cancelled by the operator due to weather conditions but some strange reason they didn't. It was overcast and raining. I couldn't imagine myself swimming , snorkeling or taking photos in the rain and cold but I didn't want to lose all my $ so asked the guide to change it to a city tour. The driver and guides were very friendly and helpful. I even got a few errands in the process!

We were in a tour package when we sailed and snorkled around this bay... Honda Bay honda or hondo is a spanish word that means deep waters... Bring your own water sandals, snorkle equipment, some old bread for fish feeding to save some pesos if you can... The inclusive lunch buffet was served around 10:30am so a light breakfast will do... First stop will be the Luli Island where you get accustomed with your snorkling equipments while feeding fish in your palm before actually swimming in the middle of the bay... Second stop of course is in the middle of the bay to where you swim over coral reef and with the fishes... Last stop is the Cowrie Island where you can either dry yourself after snorkling or maybe walk around the beautiful island for memorable pictures... Please do not neglect to tip your tour guide and maybe the boat crew if the service is exceptional... Enjoy...-:

This tour is definitely a must-do when you visit Puerto Princesa. It might be good to do the tour when forecast wind is gentle during summer months, as seas can get rough and the coast guard limits the range of your tour in our case we were not able to visit starfish island. In any case just get a tip from your tour guide and he will give you options. I believe any of these options would be good. The buffet lunch was also great. We had ours at Cowrie Island.

Natuurlijk moet je de Hondabay tour doen als je in Princesa bent. Helaas gaf deze tour niet veel bijzonders te ervaren.. Crew was super vriendelijk maar de drukte en de aangedane eilandjes geven zeker geen reden om nogmaals in te checken.. Beetje teleurstellend maar voor deze prijs mag je ook eigenlijk niet veel verwachten...
