Milton was fantastic! He was very accommodating and knowledgeable to the places and things we state we were interested in. Went to a few touristy areas including central downtown, chocolate factory and Macorix Rum factory but really enjoyed where all the locals go to eat and live their daily life in Maimon! Highly recommend to anyone looking to customize your trip while here to really enjoy a city you’re not familiar with. Ask for Milton!

Milton was the best ~ informative, gracious and humorous as we enjoyed a private tour of his beloved homeland. We enjoyed all the historical highlights and glimpses into the friendly culture of Puerto Plata. Definitely take this tour if you are looking for a customized island view!

Our guide, Milton, was wonderful! He personalized the tour experience to show us the things we wanted to see. He is very personable and seems to know everybody. We saw other group tours, with everyone crowded together, and were so glad that it was just us and Milton. The price was very reasonable for a private tour. We highly recommend this tour and Milton!

We had such a great time on our private half-day tour of Puerto Plata with Milton! He was right on time, super easygoing, and didn’t make us feel rushed at all. It felt like he was completely focused on what we wanted to do, which made the day so much more fun and relaxed.
Milton showed us all the spots we wanted to see and even took us to try some amazing local food—definitely one of the highlights! He really made the whole experience feel personal and special.

Beware! After a VERY LONG walk to get outside the port gates we did not have any directions or a number to contact to meet our guide, a tourism official finally figured out who to contact. We booked this tour for two reasons (cable car and specialized tour) and neither one happened. First there was no cable car ride. It was shut down two weeks before we booked (for 12-18 months) and this was still in the first half of the itinerary as described on Viator. The second reason we booked was because every review describes a wonderful experience with Milton. Our guide was very nice, but we got very little history and we were just led to one shop after another (not really museums). We did see the colorful streets and paid to have pictures with birds and a monkey. Then we were driven up and down residential neighborhoods before taken for a long lunch on our dime (pretty view of the sea) driven by the fort (did not get to stop) and back for the long walk back to the port. If we knew the cable car was not in operation and we not asked what we wanted to experience we would have chosen the cheaper generic city tour.

Dear Elizabeth, We are very sorry to hear about your experience, The Cable Car is closed for Safety reasons and driving up to the top of the Mountain it is not a safe choice. all the ports are designed in a way that you need to walk to find your local tour operators outside the port.(only 10 minutes walking)

We decided to book this sort of last minute and we’re so glad we did. The two of us just wanted a low key informational tour of key monuments in the city and we got that and so much more! We cannot praise our guide Milton enough- so friendly and knowledgeable we felt so lucky. He even taught us about the plants, flowers, and trees which was such a lovely unexpected bonus! We mostly beat the crowds too which made everything that much more enjoyable for us. Milton’s facts, conversation (with perfect English) and company made this better than we could’ve ever hoped for. What a great way to get to see and learn about Puerto Plata. Our guide, Milton, was very knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. He took us to a local restaurant where we enjoyed an authentic Dominican lunch and made sure that we got to see everything. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our guide, Milton, was awesome. He took us wherever we wanted to go. When the cable car was cancelled because of weather, he took us somewhere else to still give us a good experience. He even took us to the store so we could buy a cord we had left at home. He was so courteous, putting an umbrella over us when it rained. He made sure we had a enjoyable time and answered questions abt the history of the places we went, as well as info about the country. It was a great tour. I would highly recommend this tour.

He tailors to your needs and what you would like to see in the area. We wanted to eat local food and were taken to a very nice cafeteria/restaurants where the locals eat and it was amazing! The cable car ride gave us a refreshing view of the entire city, but near the top surrounding the Christ the redeemer statue was even better. Make sure you go early in the morning as it is way less crowded up there. There was one guy who put us in several different positions with the statues that made us look like we were holding hands with him and he was our own paparazzi guide. Our tour guides then took us to the city and we got to see the pink street, we got to see the city Square and learn about the history of Puerto Plata, and one of my favorite parts was watching a guy use a machete on a coconut so that we could drink it. After we walked around the town, and after drinking coconut water straight out of the coconut, we took it back to the machete man, and he cut the whole thing up for us, so that we could then eat the insides. It was a fun treat. We also got to go see a private demonstration of how Larimar and amber is turned into jewelry. The fort at the end of the tour was informative and our headsets were great guides. but not too exciting as they were not a lot of artifacts in there.

We really loved the tour! The cable car and tour of the garden was an absolute highlight and the empanadas were delicious. The tour of the fort and city were also just what we were looking for as far as an intro to DR. The only con would be the amber museum. The rep there (totally separate from our main guide) was a little pushy with tips. She hovered around us while w were shopping around and really pushed us to by something. While amber is cool, museum isn’t the word I would use to describe this stop

We love the beautiful island country. Our tour guide Milton was knowledgeable about the island very friendly and warm. Our driver Tao,Was a great driver, who knew his way around puerta plata. Great way to drive around the island see the malecon. The different villages. The fauna. All the trees that grow and the fruit.
