Itinerary
Start the day with 9am pickup at your hotel (selected hotels only), then begin the 1-hour trip to Cortes Falls, passing a trio of Guanacaste volcanoes along the way: spot Rincon de la Vieja, Miravalles, and Tenorio. Upon arrival at Cortes Falls, you’ll descend a short, steep trail to the waterfall, where you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the peaceful spot.
Swim in the clear pool at the base of the waterfall, and scramble on rocks behind the lacy, 49-foot (15-meter) wide curtain of water. Stretch out on the white, sandy beach, and soak up the sun, listening for the tropical birds and other wildlife that thrive in the surrounding forest. At the end of your time at the waterfall, dry off and visit a nearby restaurant for an included lunch, then begin the return trip to Playa del Coco. This 5-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.
