Starting off in Paphos picking up from hotels then following the old Paphos/limassol road to our first stop Petra tou Romiou (Aphorodites Rocks). We learnt from guide Eva that Aphorodite emerged from the surf by the rocks. After a brief stop for photographs we then continued towards Limassol. We then proceded all the road past Episcopi garrison part of the Sovereign base areas (Briitish Military). Then we headed towards Kourion an ancient hillside settlement. We visited the Theatre and also some excavations. It was very informative with some great views over the bay. They were preparing for a musical event which is a highlight during the summer months. We rejoined the coach and made our way towards the village of Kolossi. We learnt about the history of the area and why Kolossi Castle was built. We also learnt about Richard the Lion heart. We had time to visit the castle and have a drink at the cafe. Getting back onto the coach we headed inland up towards the village of Omodos. We could visibly see how much devastation wild fires had caused earlier this summer. The scenery was like it was caught in shadow yet on closer inspection we realised it was charred remains of trees, bushes, vines. It looked devastating and then a glimmer of hope with areas of green emerging. We then arrived at the beautiful village of Omodos. A village that is close to my heart. We visited Georges bakery we had samples of goods to try and taste including Nuts, bread and Olive oil. We then passed into the shop were we could buy from the small shop. We then went to the Church which reportedly hold parts of the cross and also part of the rope that bound Jesus's hands. After our visit we went to a restaurant to enjoy a drink and something to eat. It was then back to the coach for our visit to Gerolemo winery. I am not a wine lover but found the tasting session incredible. We were lucky enough to have our tadting session guided by our of the two brothers. His enthusiasm and friendliness was evident. He was doing something he loved, his passion. We tasted a few wines lincluding Commandaria and the spirit Zivania. They have a website for those interested in wine. It was an enjoyable experience. We then made our way back to the bus and headed back to Paphos the sun was getting lower setting the scene with a golden glow. The experience was a great introduction to Cyprus. A big thankyou for our driver Andreas nicknamed "sexy Andreas" by our guide Eva. Eva is a historian full of knowledge and stories. She is a gem and sums up the warmth of the Cypriot people. A great Experience

A wonderful day trip, giving a taster of the authentic Cyprus. Our guide Eva was excellent, delivering information in a friendly and interesting manner. I would highly recommend this heritage tour.

A good, informative introduction to some Cyprus history. Good guide and driver and comfortable transport. Just be aware that this is a typical bus tour, with not much time at each location, so if you want an in depth look at the places, you will need to visit independently.

Eva made the trip very informative and fun. We saw all the sights in the itinerary with a historical background on each, we enjoyed the wine tasting the most. Unfortunately the lunch stop was a bit limited due to the number of closed restaurants since we were visiting off season, so if you have dietary requirements, give it a search before going to make sure you can find something to snack on :)

Very interesting trip - wouldn’t have seen these places without doing it. Omodos village was very authentic.

Excellent trip. The guide Eva was excellent. I would highly recommend for those who want to learn something about the history of Cyprus. I would have personally liked to have seen more of Kourion, such as the House of the Gladiators but due to the layout of the site and the distance between the various archaeological remains, I understand that that is not practical on a trip like this.

Eva was a great guide, enjoyed the sites but time in each area is limited. Would have been nice go onto the beach next to Aphrodite's rock.
Wine tasting was excellent tasted 6 varieties with nibbles. Air conditioned bus, essential as it was over 35 degrees.
One improvement could the wine tasting have been after the visit to omodos village, as you don't get lunch and free time till 2pm.
But recommended on a visit to Cyprus.

What a wonderful day fulll of history and experiences. Eva knows her stuff and tells things in a delightful way. She kept the day educational and fun. She knew someone everywhere we went to make sure we felt like honoured guests at each venue.
We enjoyed every part.
