Overview

Escape the city for an adventurous whitewater rafting experience on the Rouge River, known for its thrilling rapids and sandy beaches. Unlike many rafting excursions, this full-day tour gets you on the water twice, so there’s plenty of opportunity to hone your rafting skills and soak up the scenery. Tours depart from outside Montreal, making it a great choice for travelers with their own transport or heading to the Mont-Tremblant area.

Itinerary

Meet up with your guide and group of fellow adventurers at the rafting center in Montreal. Get a safety briefing, then transfer to the boat and watch as your guide demonstrates some basic rafting maneuvers, then practice them yourself. As you approach each rapid, your guide will give you instructions on what to do and how to react to different possible scenarios. Each rapid on the Rouge ends in a calm pool, which gives you an opportunity to catch your breath and watch the scenery.

Depending on the season, you'll shoot the Seven Sisters Section, including rapids such as 'Surprise', 'Turbo', and 'Confusion.' Your trip will run on the most appropriate section for the water level to ensure you a safe and exciting experience.

You'll stop midway through the day for lunch, and at the day's end, you'll watch a photo and video presentation of your adventure while enjoying a salmon or steak dinner.

Very nice day, rafting on la Rivière Rouge. Our guide was a super chill guy, tailoring the experience to our group's ability. The photographs took some impressive action shots, so that we can now relive the memories. I would highly recommend to any thrill seeker out there!

We were a bit unsure about the day because it was raining so hard, but this made the water flow well later in the season. We hit class 2-3+, maybe even one class 4. My 12 year old loved it (and they walked him around the class 4 due to his weight). The staff were super helpful, food was great (steak was outstanding) and water experience was outstanding. The photos they took were super high res and we bought the entire set for $65 on a USB stick. Will definitely go back.
