Itinerary
Your 4-hour tour of the Nha Trang countryside starts bright and early at 8am. Be ready for your hotel pickup a little before 8am. Once you’ve been picked up, you’ll be taken over to the spot where you’ll pick a rickshaw for the day.
Your first stop is at a village where potters are known for their charcoal stoves, and next is a village where bakers make bread. At each village, get to know how each craft is done, and get an insider’s look at the lifestyle these people lead.
Continue on to meet a family of mat makers who weave mats from scratch. Learn the importance of these mats and how they’re the source of income for this family. Then, move along to be welcomed into a traditional Vietnamese home. See what the differences are between this cultural home and yours. (Hint: the family altar used to worship ancestors might be just one of a few differences.)
After your rickshaw tour has ended, hop into a vehicle for a ride back to your hotel. You’ll have the rest of the day to do as you please.
Please note: A minimum of four people per booking is required.

The experience of travelling in a Pedicab was not to be missed and probably never repeated. The overall tour was billed as Countryside and Crafts-we were picked up at the entrance to the port in a lovely Mercedes van and taken to the tour operators office to commence the tour which was in the city so we had to travel via pedicab through the busy city traffic to reach the countryside-a hair raising experience especially when the rickshaw drivers were at times smoking with one hand and talking on mobile phones with the other! Of course there are differences when travelling in a third world country but Viatour has the responsibility for their guests-we did pass a local hospital and it did not look appealing! At one point we stopped to walk over a local foot and bike bridge-an interesting experience as this bridge would be condemned in most countries but the tour guide was extremely proud of this feature!
The people at the local craft stops were warm and friendly and happy to show their techniques.
All and all the countryside tour was interesting but given the safety concerns which were low on this tours priorities I could not recommend this tour.
