This excursion was amazing. Steven our driver was great. The pathway to the Queens Staircase is a beautiful area. We tasted rum cake, tasty herbal tea and could have tasted rum. We enjoyed the history and the tour where they make the rum. The Junkanoo was our favorite. The couple that shared with us all the costumes and history behind the Junkanoo parade were amazing. It was so interesting. Could have stayed there for a lot longer. It is so hard to believe the costumes are made from paper and old boxes. We then went to Arawak Cay and went to Drifters and enjoyed delicious fish, conch fritters and the best wings I have ever had. Our family of 10 ranged in age from 7 to 68. We all loved it and highly recommend this trip. Also, they picked us up and dtopped us off at our hotel. Take this tour, you will not be disappointed. Thank you from "The Moye family"

We’ve always talked poorly about the port at Nassau and how we typically stay on ship verse getting out. We decided to book this tour and all five of us absolutely had a blast and loved it.

This was a fun excursion to see a bit of local Nassau, as opposed to just the beaches. We booked through viator vice our cruise line (Disney) because of the size of our group (9), which allowed us to all get on the excursion together - and honestly it was probably more efficient to meet up with excursion directly.
Our driver, Adrian, was great. Knowledgeable, polite and not pushy. The kids especially loved the novelty of riding in the jeep, climbing over the large wheels and through the open windows to get in. Most windows zipped up to shield us from wind/rain, and Adrian had a speaker so everyone could hear him.
The highlights of the trip were the Junkanoo experience - an off the beaten path, hole-in-the-wall museum/education center where we learned about the history, saw and were encouraged to touch the different costumes, and had a little experience making music ourselves. We also enjoyed the lunch - bites of some local cuisine (the wings were amazing).
We did swing by several local places for tastes of tea, ice cream, and chocolate. We all enjoyed the samples and the bit of local culture as we learned about some of the unique ingredients. Even though there was absolutely no pressure, it did feel a bit like a clever shopping trick.
We also went to the distillery, which was fun but the tour was a bit underwhelming - very large, hard to hear, and short (under 10 minutes). That's actually somewhere I'd have wanted to hear more about. Most in our group didn't drink, so we didn't get to partake in the rum, vodka, or mixed drinks.
Recommended for families that want a bit of culture but also lots of novelty and change to keep the kids interested and engaged.

What fun! Our guide was Leroy. He was extremely knowledgeable. He was fun and provided historical facts about Nassau and Paradise Island. Our group of seven enjoyed the beautiful sun shinny day on the open air jeep. We traveled the complete Island viewing the Embassies, Churches, Homes of the Rich and Famous. Our tour ended at a local restaurant tasting the native cuisine before boarding the ship.
It was an excellent and reasonable excursion for our group, who were of mature age with slight mobility problems, although Leroy had a step stool to help board the jeep. I highly recommend the Funky Jeep tour for all ages and families. I found the tour to be reasonable, timely, and very efficient. Most of all it was very informative because Leroy was so knowledgeable..
The tour was January 13, 2026. Thanks Leroy, Eleanor W. from Virginia

This tour is a fun way to experience some of the Bahamian culture with tasty samplings of teas, chocolate and various home grown alcohols. The guide provides historical tidbits as you make your way around the downtown Nassau area. A fun, hands on overview of the history and cultural significance of Junkanoo and finally a yummy lunch at Fish Fry tops off the tour.
Our tour guide was superb!

We had a nice time on this tour. Our tour guide, Eric was great and did a nice job of sharing a plethora of knowledge of the island with us. The tour felt a bit rushed towards the end due to the cruise ship passengers needing to get back to the boat, but Eric made it up to us and took us to two additional spots, so that made up for it. He also took pictures of us, which was nice. I would recommend this tour.

Initially Viator had contacted me about canceling his tour due to lack of seats sold on the tour. But then there was no time for us to reschedule, they went ahead and took us on the tour. It was an amazing experience. Eric, our driver was a native to the island and had wonderful insights and information about the island. Eric went above and beyond for us on this tour, taking pictures for us that we wanted, and he even ventured out and bought a mango for me because I mentioned I wanted to try one. Such a great tour guide!

We had a great time! Our tour guide Leroy was super well informed on the local history and taught us a lot. He was also very helpful throughout the tour and made sure we had an amazing time.

My experience on this tour was far from satisfactory. As someone who travels extensively, I have taken tours all around the world. While I appreciated the driver's friendliness and knowledge, the overall value of the tour was disappointing, especially considering the hefty price tag for three hours of driving. I thought $330 for 1 adult and 2 children was excessive.
Although an appetizer lunch was included, the preordered menu included only three items: conch fritters, fried fish, and chicken wings. I realize these were locally prepared dishes with traditional seasonings, but as a vegan, none of these options were suitable for me. When I asked about an alternative, I was informed that I could order some potatoes, but there would be an additional charge. It was midday and I was hungry, so I agreed to pay the extra cost.
However, the wait for my potatoes was excessively long. As I watched the rest of the group finish their meal, it became increasingly apparent that I may not get the potatoes, as the tour was on a time schedule. Ultimately, when it was time to leave, my potatoes had still not arrived. As a result, I returned to the ship to have lunch. This made my experience even more disappointing, especially given the tour's premium pricing.

Rocky was a great tour guide! We all had a blast! He took us to places we would never have
gone and gave us so much history. He told us all about the locals, shopping and toured different places only found in the Bahamas. We had lunch at a wonderful authentic restaurant which we all loved. Every one of us commented how great this experience was. We are so glad we went and will definitely do it again! Thank you Rocky!

Had a fun time, saw lots of interesting spots. Good overview of Nassau and great guide. Our guide was Rocky and it was like you have a local friend that is showing you around their hometown.
Kava_B, Sep 2024
The entire trip was amazing from start to finish, our tour guide Rocky was on time to pick my husband and I up, actually we were in the lobby he was ahead of time, Rocky was very friendly and knowledgeable, so kind, everything about the trip was amazing, from the wine distillery, to the Junkanoo, to the chocolate factory, the rum house, and to top it off the fish fry, amazing tour, and an even amazing experience Rocky provided 20/10 experience nothing but excellence.
Michael_K, Sep 2024
Everything on the trip was amazing. Leroy the driver was awesome. All the locals were delightful and accommodating.

4.5! Leon our driver was very accommodating, knowledgeable and charismatic throughout our tour. The rain made it difficult to stay dry within the jeep, so prepare to get soaked if it’s raining all day. He was great at accommodating my whole family with children and was always helping taking our photos. Our biggest surprise was the amount of tipping we had to do per spot. So be prepared for that.
Sarah_V, Aug 2024
The gentleman who drove our funky jeep was nice enough, but the tour was not what we were expecting. Each stop was basically a place where we were expected to buy something or donate money. The Queens Staircase was nice but then we were targeted by a local who had great knowledge but elicited a tip afterwards. Our driver pointed us out group out to him. There were other locations pointed out to us as we were driving by, that would have been more interesting to stop at vs dropping in at places like the local rum cake store or tasty teas. The last stop was at a fish fry. I thought we would be walking around but we were actually brought into a shop to eat fish. No one in our group eats fish, which the driver was told on our way there, so it wound up being a totally awkward experience. Did not do enough research in advance to understand what we were getting ourselves into for the amount of money the tour cost.

We had an amazing time with Erick! he was really knowledgable about the history of Nassau and took us to all the important landmarks and fun local places for tea, rum cake and finger food. Love to support local business and meet new places.
Leela_K, Jun 2024
We made it to all the stops as listed on our reservation! From Tasty Teas all the way to Arawak Cay, every individual we met on the way was extremely pleasant and cordial, all the samples we had were flavorful and rich, and all the information we had the honor of listening to was in-depth and eye-opening. We learnt so much about the island in 3.5 hours and I would definitely do this again next time I’m in Nassau! Lastly, what took our adventure a notch higher was our amazing tour guide - Rocky! Pleasant, funny, and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all the sights to see in Nassau! My family and I had a 1001 questions about the island and he answered all of them gladly!
Jenise_D, Jun 2024
My favorite part of the tour was learning about Junkanoo and getting to beat the drum. Despite the heavy rain fall, this is a very fun and informational excursion.
Lisa_K, Jun 2024
Rocky was amazing! We had a little rain delay and he found something fun and interesting to do while we waited for the rain to quit. Every stop was great and just the right amount of time! It was nice to be able to see things off the beaten path, hear some history of the area and spend a little money to support some local shops. Loved trying all the foods and drinks!

This excursion was one of the best ones I have ever had in Nassau, but what made it the best was our tour guide/driver, Rocky. He was terrific, very down-to-earth, professional, and had a wealth of excellent knowledge about the island! He gave us some great insights about the island, its history, and its beautiful people. He also served us some of the native treats of the island, which was delicious. Overall, this was an excellent tour for my family and me, and we recommend him to others as he went above and beyond to help us even to help my husband with ankle/leg pain issues, and overall provided a great tour.

We were directed to wait at a meetup location across the street from the port. Nearly 45 minutes after the time that we were supposed to arrive and about the time we were convinced we'd been forgotten, our driver arrived on foot and walked us back over to the port. We loaded into the jeep where we waited some more for the rest of the group to arrive from the ships. It would have just made more sense for them to give us a different arrival time so we didn't have to wait so long. We took a ride through the city and the driver gave us some nice commentary about what we were seeing. We stopped first at a rum cake store that was very small, they gave us some samples and we loaded back up. We stopped at the queens staircase and he gave us the opportunity to walk down it and he would pick us up. Next up was a stop at the tea store. They made us listen to their sales pitch and offered samples. Outside were 2 bars, one with fresh daquiris. They're good and refreshing on a hot day. By this point I'm feeling like a captive audience for sales pitches. The BEST part of the day and what redeemed this tour for me, was the Junkanoo experience. These people are the BEST and the experience was so informative, so fun, and left us smiling for hours! This was also the only place we stopped with a restroom so far. Finally, we took a ride to the fish fry where we were seated inside and served family style. It was a nice snack, although a little uncomfortable to eat/share family style with strangers. A restroom was available here as well. We then loaded up and headed back to the port. Shopping for rum cake and tea and a few souvenirs was available along the way. There was an abundance of shopping at the straw market and other shops in and directly across from the port entrance where everything but the tea was readily available. I would recommend waiting to shop until the end. This is a good way to experience many parts of Nassau in a few hours.

Other than the confusion of the location pick up, the tour was fantastic!
Coming off the ship and not having Internet it took us almost 25 minutes to find the stretch Jeep location
Rocky was our tour guide and he was amazing! There was no one else on our tour with us, so it was literally like a private tour of the island. We made three awesome stops and then finished up with some caribean tastings from drifters.

Leroy was a great tour guide filled with island hospitality, knowledge & great humor. We enjoyed all the taste testers as well as the Junkanoo
