We booked this tour knowing that these are very significant historical places. Hence, when we found out that the tour guide was Francis again, we were hoping that it was the same Francis that took us to the River Cruise 2 days ago. It was.
Francis suggested that we take the subway instead of having a driver this time. We fully agree. In Nanjing, rush hour traffic is a nightmare. Subway, on my other hand, can be more convenient, especially when it comes to famous attractions. Everything was great. Francis explained alongside all the historical details, significance, etc. Every stone animal, every differences between the animals. Why they were there, etc.
Then came the terrantial rain. It just kept going for hours without any hope of stopping. In between the rain, my husband lost his cell phone, which is fatal in China because you need your phone for everything. Francis then spend the next half hour helping us looking for the phone. They found it but we had to wait for the electric shuttle bus driver to come to our location. We retrieved the phone, which we are extremely thankful for. It's not the money. It's all the data, information to photos, etc. that was inside.
We had to cut the visit short because we were all dripping wet. The day would have been worst had it not for Francis's professionalism. We got to see most of what we wanted to see.

Our tour guide, Jenny was outstanding. She was very friendly, flexible and most knowledgeable. Her English is perfect and was able to answer my endless questions. She was considerate of my husband's limitations with walking but ensured we had a most comprehensive and enjoyable tour.
At the end of the tour, she went out of her way to assist us onto the train to Shanghai, negotiating with railway staff to allow her all the way onto the train platform and assisting us with our luggage.
By the end of the day, I felt I had a genuine new friend.
Fred was such a wonderful guide during our time in Nanjing. He knew so much about the city and shared everything in a fun, easy-to-understand way. The day felt relaxed because he planned according to our pace. He was warm, friendly, and speaks good English too. We had a great time and would happily recommend him to anyone visiting.

His English was perfect, and he followed my custom schedule exactly as planned, which I really appreciated. I spent a great day with Fred on this tour of Nanjing. The logistics were seamless; I was contacted in advance to make arrangements and the meet up went smoothly. Fred was extremely well spoken with excellent English. He shared the rich history of the sites we visited including the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, the city wall gate and the Confucius Temple. It was so helpful to have him navigate the transportation through the city and he was so genererous with his time. Thank you!
