This is our 2nd time on this trolley, the first time we had a medical emergency and they were amazing! On this, our second go around, they were very welcoming and even hugged my husband glad he is ok! Amazing tour driver and storytelling!
Response from Host, Apr 2026
I can’t tell you how delighted we are that you were able to join us a second time. So glad everything worked out. We look forward to having you aboard again. You are great. Thanks for the sweet review.
Teresa_S, Feb 2026
Kathryn is a storyteller who brings the local history and legends to life — the planning to take her other tour, too!
Response from Host, Feb 2026
I am so glad that you enjoyed it and it will be a pleasure to have you aboard again. Thanks for the great review.
Sara_M, Oct 2025
There is one bathroom stop and you don’t have to get off the bus when they do stop Nate stories, the host knows her history of the area
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thanks for being on the tour. I appreciate the thumbs up.
Cathy_L, Oct 2025
Catherine is an excellent story teller. She delivered so much information in such a short time and kept our interest throughout the tour.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you for this great review. I am so glad that you enjoyed it. It was a pleasure to have you aboard.
Max_W, Jul 2025
The tour guide was so knowledgeable and fun to be around. The trolley was cold even with the 90+ degree July weather. 10/10 recommend. We will be doing another tour next year!
Response from Host, Jul 2025
We look forward to having you back. Thanks for such a nice review. Have a great time while you are here.
Sergio_B, Oct 2024
The tour guide was very knowledgeable, maybe too much so. She told a ton of stories, at such a fast pace that at times it was difficult to follow along. The seats are rather small and a very obese man decided to share my seat, essentially squeezing me in against the window. The 3 stops are very short, so I was barely able to get enough time to walk and stretch before being seated again. The first stop was 5 minutes at the cottage in Brookgreen. Second stop was 15 minutes at a hammock shop that doubled as restroom break. I found it kinda random and disconnected that we stopped to see a hammock making demonstration. Kinda odd. Third stop was 5 minutes at a panoramic overlook. There wasn’t any time given at any stop for any shopping, eating, or free time. By the end of the tour, most of us were overloaded, exhausted and glad it was over. I was glad to not be seated next to that man any longer.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
I am so sorry that this was not the tour for you and that it wasn’t what you were hoping for. I stress in the description that if you are looking for a tour that spends time at local attractions, do not take this one. In two hours we travel out of the county and you will hear a wealth of folklore and historical stories of our region. I will also introduce you to all sorts of the wonderful places that you might want to come back to when you have the time to spend at them. I hope the rest of your stay in Myrtle Beach was enjoyable.
Brenda_L, Oct 2024
Was great thank you. A little too many folks on the bus. Katherine and Rose were very helpful - appreciate Katherine sharing her knowledge & stories with my adult family members.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
It was a pleasure to do so. Thank you for bringing everyone on the tour. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
Ray_K, Aug 2024
The plantation and the pirate story’s. it was all very interesting. ! Narrator was very knowledgable . The trolley was clean just a very pleasant experience.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
I am so glad that you enjoyed it. Thank you for joining us. We appreciate your kind words.
Eric_W, Jun 2024
Great job! I was intrigued soon as I stepped on the bus. Katherine’s knowledge of the area was superior. Her storytelling was awesome.
Response from Host, Jun 2024
Thank you so much! I am so glad that you enjoyed it. We look forward to having you aboard again one day.
Anthony_C, May 2024
The curator was extremely knowledgeable. We learned so many interesting facts about the history of Myrtle Beach. Would definitely consider doing another tour during our next trip.
Response from Host, May 2024
And we would love to have you. Thanks for the nice review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the tour.
amina_b, Apr 2024
Great trip and narration ... the information was great and trolly was comfortable. Lovely stops. Makes you want to come back
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you so much for this nice review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Sorry it's taken me this long to respond, but I've been away. While gone, I was able to visit the Huntingtons' final resting place at Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx. Their mausoleum and the large cenotaph that Anna sculpted next to it are remarkable. I'm glad that you got to hear a little about them and their impact on our part of the world.
Tyler_P, Mar 2024
Enjoyed the tour and the stories. It was a rainy day and the trolley windows were all fogged up. Also it was difficult to hear the tour guide (not her fault there was a special
needs child on the tour who moaned throughout the tour).
Response from Host, Mar 2024
We embrace all of the families who join us for these tours. The children in your party were great. It was fun to see them getting into the stories and meeting The Hammock Man, Marvin Grant, in Pawleys Island. The tour you were on was about the most challenging I have ever had and I appreciate that you held in there and made the most of it despite these most unusual of several circumstances. I requested that driver have the maintenance crew treat the windows with an anti-fog solution going forward. You were a really nice group and it was a pleasure having you be a part of this experience.
Kathleen_G, Mar 2024
The person narrating was so full of stories. Hardly catching a breath. Talking so fast everything was running together and you really couldn’t get it in your brain long enough to understand what she was saying. She needs to pick a couple of stories. Maybe see if anybody has a question about the area.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
We do have a wealth of wonderful folklore and historical stories incorporated into this tour. I was happy to field the questions that our guests had during the three stops. We hope that the rest of your time in the Myrtle Beach area is pleasurable.
sandra_m, Mar 2024
Listening to ghost stories and folklore. Beautiful scenery, kindness of the staff, suggested places to visit.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you for being a part of this.
Philip_J, Oct 2023
Our guide talked for 2 full hours telling all kinds of very interesting stories. She had a fascinating history herself & obviously loves her work. We saw a lot of new areas that most Myrtle Beach visitors wouldn’t see.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
It is a pleasure to hear that you enjoyed our folklore and history. There are many great things to see just south of Myrtle Beach. Thank you for being aboard.
Lisa_W, Oct 2023
We loved all the tales of local lore, mystery and history, told by a very knowledgeable hostess Katherine. We wish each stop was a bit longer and that the trolley could actually take a quick pass through Brookgreen Gardens. It seems like Katherine had to speak SO FAST to get all her stories in.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
I am so glad that you enjoyed our folklore. There's a lot to share. I can't stress enough that our stops are brief because we only have the trolley for two hours and half that time is getting to and getting back from the Murrells Inlet / Pawleys Island area. But not a moment is wasted as there is a constant flow of stories while we're moving. Brookgreen Gardens already graciously allows us to come to the Gardener's Cottage. We would have to buy tickets to enter. However, it is a wonderful place to visit!
Starr_R, Sep 2023
It was the most boring trip I have ever taken. The tour operator was not interactive with the tourists at all. She was a narcissist in every sense of the word. You could tell she enjoyed talking non stop and focused on herself and talked so fast you couldn't understand half of her stories. Not being able to stop at any place of interest and the one stop we were allowed off the trolley didn't last 15 minutes. The poor shop keepers didn't have time to sell their products. So Sad...
Response from Host, Sep 2023
I am so sorry that you didn't have the same enjoyable experience as most of the other guests including the three who left the previous five-star reviews that were on the trolley with you. But personally attacking me is not appropriate. I do hope the rest of your experiences in Myrtle Beach were to your liking. For anyone else reading this considering taking this tour, let me reiterate that this is a two-hour narrated tour with two hours of commentary made of up of our local folklore and history that I love to share. There are three brief stops that are not designed for you to go shopping as there is not enough time in the two-hour span. You are encouraged to come back to the area to visit the sites I tell you about along the way.
Kathy_R, Sep 2023
This was awesome! The narrator was so knowledgeable, interactive, and made history and myths come to life.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it. I love these stories. Thank you for taking this tour.
Christina_D, Aug 2023
The guide was excellent. A true local with off the beaten path knowledge. Wish we could have done all the tours the offered!
Response from Host, Aug 2023
It was such a pleasure to have you aboard. I love telling these great stories that I grew up with. Please join us for the other three tours when you return.
Nicole_S, Jul 2023
The guide was very knowledgeable of facts from around the area. Although the stops were quick you got a sense of what the stop was all about. We had a very nice time which was what we were looking for.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
I am delighted that you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Shari_F, Jul 2023
The most memorable part was I was told the wrong time and then I couldn't get a refund or a time when we were here to redo it. So we just threw money out the window...
Response from Host, Jul 2023
This is FALSE! You did NOT SHOW UP for the tour. I OFFERED TO HONOR YOUR TICKETS IN THE FUTURE. I called you to see if you were on the way to make sure that we didn't leave without you, and you thought the tour was at 6 PM. There is no way that I or the ticket platform would have given you that time. When you called me later, you could not send me anything that led you to believe that the tour was at the wrong time. I don't know why you thought my morning tour was in the evening. Our policy is to give full refunds up to the day before the tour. On the day of, we go above and beyond and still let you use your tickets in the future. It was the last tour of the week, so we could have put you on a tour the next time you were in Myrtle Beach. You conveyed that everything that you booked while in Myrtle Beach was messed up. I am so sorry that your time here was not enjoyable, but to submit this damaging review is unfair.
Rosemarie_C, Jul 2023
Great tour guide with so many interesting facts and stories. Well organized and planned. Highly recommend.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
You have mentioned all of the words that warm my heart the most. Thank you so much for being a part of that tour. It is so much fun to do. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it.
IvetteJ_C, Jun 2023
She was very informative and had tons of stories to share. Very interesting to learn about the ghost stories and pirate background of Myrtle Beach.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
I am so glad that you enjoyed the stories that have been passed down for generations. It was a pleasure to have you aboard.
NancyLee_G, Jun 2023
The moderator was filled with knowledge and personal experience. She was delightful and entertaining! I am going home and paint my porch roof blue … just to be safe!
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Absolutely! You can never be too careful. I am so glad that you enjoyed our local folklore and took to heart the things you can do to protect yourself from the spirits that might not be so friendly and the ghosts that can be particularly helpful. It is a joy to share these stories with my guests.
Holly_F, Jun 2023
We really enjoyed Pawleys Island. It would have been nice to spend more time there. Brookgreen Gardens was also nice. I would have enjoyed seeing more than the one house.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
I am so glad that you enjoyed your introduction to Pawleys Island and Brookgreen Gardens. They are wonderful destinations. I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH that this is a TWO-HOUR TOUR with THREE BRIEF STOPS and that, while I tell you about my favorite places that you may want to visit in the future, THIS TOUR IS NOT THE TIME TO DO THAT. Please go back down there when you can and spend the few days that it would require to enjoy everything. You'll have a great time. For anyone else reading this review, this tour is an oportune way to get an overview of fabulous places to see within a half-hour drive south of Myrtle Beach. If your objective is to spend time at these attractions, this is not the tour for you. It is a storytelling-centric compiliation of our best local folklore and history that serves as a fun introduction to the area. (No, there are no ghost sightings on this tour, just great stories).
Donna_O, Jun 2023
If you enjoy ghost and pirate stories, this tour is for you. Our tour guide shared lots of interesting information and stories from as far back as 200 years ago.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
Barbara_G, May 2023
What a wonderful tour. Very informative, we saw so many things we would never have found by ourselves. The tour guide was top notch, really knew her stuff. The driver was excellent. Highly recommnend
Response from Host, May 2023
I am so glad that you enjoyed it. I have always loved that part of the world and am thrilled to share it with my guests. Thanks!
Manon_H, Mar 2023
Learned a lot! So interesting! The tour guide was highly knowledgeable. Beautiful day to boot. Drop off was perfect we grabbed lunch from the local restaurants. Highly recommend
Response from Host, Mar 2023
I am so glad that you had a good time! I must say that you and your fellow passengers were a delight to have aboard. These local folklore and history stories are such a part of our lives. It is truly a pleasure to share them with those who appreciate them.
Elizabeth_M, Feb 2023
The stories that were told during the tour were probably my favorite. History that is passed down from generation to generation, that is not written in a book.
Response from Host, Feb 2023
I am so happy that you feel that way. You can't find all of the information that I share in any one source. I have read not only all of the local history books that I have collected, but also the ones that my parents' did during the mid-20th century. The details that I've been able to glean from those books have sometimes been lost by the time the tales reach the books on sale today. I'm thrilled to bring back our more comprehensive local folklore to share with my guests. Thank you for being on the tour.
Cathymetzinger, Dec 2022
This was ok not sure what to expect. Great historian but rather boring, not much to see in two hours. Not worth the price.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
I hope the rest of your visit is enjoyable. Happy New Year.
